VOTERS CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

This Election Day there will be a choice for an Ervinton District seat on the School Board. Rufus (Shanghi) Nickles is available as a write-in candidate. Due to FCC regulations/technicalities regarding his position at the radio station, Shanghi is not at liberty to openly announce and run for the seat, but if elected as a write-in he can and will serve.
There is not a person better known throughout Dickenson County than Shanghi. Nor is there a better promoter of Dickenson County as a whole - not just the Ervinton District where he resides - than Shanghi Nickles. He has always been an avid supporter of all Dickenson County schools, their sports programs, as well as curriculum related activities. Although quite the cut-up, Shanghi will take the job of school board member very seriously. His genial countenance makes him a person one can talk to and his widespread knowledge of the county and the goings on therein make him an excellent person for the job.
It is easy to do a write-in at the polls. The little extra time and effort it takes to write in Rufus Nickles will be well worth it in the end. Instructions on how to write-in are being circulated throughout the District and someone will be available at the polls to assist you if you need it. So don’t feel your write-in is a wasted vote. Quite the contrary. This election day you really do have the opportunity to make a difference.
We, as Shanghi’s supporters, feel it is time for a change in the Ervinton District and with your help we can make that change become a reality. Please put politics aside and vote for the person who will do the best job for the school system of Dickenson County. Vote for Rufus (Shanghi) Nickles for School Board Member of the Ervinton District.

Shanghi is a wonderful person. I only wish I lived int he Ervinton District so I could vote for him! I believe Shanghi if elected will do his best for all the children on Dickenson County. I urge everyone in that district to take the time to write in his name

I'm sorry, but I think Mr. Nickels is one of the biggest perverts in the county!!!!!!! Waaaaaaayyyyy to 'friendly'. But that's just MY opinion.

I know this man personally and he is one of the most upstanding citizens in our county. I highly doubt you know him very well or else you wouldn't have said this. If you had a bad enough experience with him to call him that or anyone else you know has had this experience, then why didn't you report it? I think if someone had exemplified some sort of perverse gesture toward me then I would file a complaint.

Your way off in your statement. I like Shanghi and his family, his sister Betty is wonderful too. I can't imagine anyone making such an accusation against such a fine person. He has worked too hard over the years and ran too successful of an establishment to be anything other than a good person. He supports our county and it's people fully. I just feel bad that whatever ill feelings you have toward him have to be expressed in an outright damaging, self-deprecating statement. I hope that whatever issues you have, you work them out prior to every posting something so cruel about a person who is nothing like what you said.

I worked with Shanghai for about 2 years and he's a great guy. I can't believe how far some people will go out of their way to put someone down without any corroborating evidence to back up their claims.

I agree that Shanghi would do great on the school board. I have never did a write in, but I will this time. We need a change.

Why would you run for a position when you could not even send your own kids/stepkids to the correct school? For as long as i have known him he has live near the Radio station dont these kids go to Clincho Elementary and then to Haysi or Ervinton High. So here is the question? Why were your kids to good to go to these schools? Was it the name or the "holier than thou" status that goes on in this county? So when Shanghi can answer these questions i would consider voting for him! Oh my gosh he can't even state he is running for the job due to FCC regulations! What a freaking joke! I wonder if his boss has anything to do with this-Richard Edwards? Don't even get me started on this one!
