since all the sh*t slinging has started, i guess it won't hurt for me to put my opinion in. For years i've set back and watch all the ups and downs of each new sheriff. but since 1999 when we elected sheriff hammons we have been in the worst shape i believe we've been in. what the f*c* was we thinking when we elected him? did we really have it that bad with sheriff childress?? i guess we thought that since hammons was a christian that our county would be in good hands. boy oh was we wrong. those hands have done nothing but been up in the air..hahaha....because he has no idea what to do! i've known several deputies from both hammons and childress's departments. i've heard lots of stories on both. but i have to say the best one i've heard would have to be the one where sheriff hammons told a few of his deputies that he would pay them for every lester turner sign they would steal during the 2004 campaign.(and that came from one of hammons former deputies) hahahahahaha!! how desperate can you get?? now tell me if i'm wrong but doesn't it say in the TEN COMANDMENTS "THOU SHALT NOT STEAL""?? i guess his thinkging was well i'm not stealing them. but paying your deputies......that makes him an accomplice. i'm not big in religion myself but i don't think its right to play on religion to get a vote like sheriff hammons has done in the past and continues to do so. in my opinion mixing politics and religion is immoral. i know what u r thinking who am i to talk religion, but im not the one out here mixing it just trying to get my self elected and making promises to serve and protect this county and all of its citizens. i have to agree with the lady who wrote the letter to the editor in last weeks paper. i definatly think its time for a change. i can't imagine what that lady and her family has gone through. and neither can any of you if it hasn't happened to you. and to those of you that it has my sympathy goes out to all of you. you talk about how that lady hurt sheriff hammons feelings. how do u think she feels when she reads what you all are writing? that was her daughter. and no matter what she may have done she still loved her. and you all know that you would feel the same way if it would have been your daughter. you act like she got what she deserved. so are u saying that if your daughter was killed that you wouldn't have taken the actions like the lady in the paper did?? you know you would have. maybe sheriff hammons is hurt beacuse the guilt is begining to catch up with him. its hitting him hard and he doesn't know what to do. maybe he should throw his hands in the air and just give up. LOL!! (i couldn't help but make another joke about that. its just way to funny) maybe he is starting to realize that he could have done something. maybe all that guilt that has been building up since his first term is starting to eat away at him. i'm sure that this sad situtaion isn't the only thing that he f*c*ed up on since he was elected. all i am saying is that we should all sit back and do a little thinking. do we really want to continue to be put through all the bull shi* another 4 years???? just remember when u go to vote in november...YOU REAP WHAT YOU SEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hammons does play religion, He was at a church in Haysi about 4 yrs ago, and he wasnt seen there again until a mth or so ago He got up and sang a few songs while mentioning that he was the sheriff and made sure that his presence was well known and left again in hopes that he had just scorde lots of votes..... Just because a man is a christian does not mean he is the right man... As long as the man has the get up and go to do the job is what counts! The road to hell is paved with good intentions.... and if were not there were in the express lane headed in that direction

well since theirs the christian church card being played against bobbie hammons, what about another candidate that is in hot water right now for forgery & lying. r.r. I know for a fact he did not join church or attend church at hill ridge baptist church until around his 1st term in office, and now he's a sunday school teacher and scandels, well theirs another huge scandel that many may or may not remember of a family member of his going away for a very long,long time years ago, anyone know what this scandel was, well the scandel is worse than the one he is in now & people want to trash bobbie hammons over a letter to the editor & yet noone seems to bring up the scandel, his family had way back when, I am sure most know exactly what I'm referring to. I don't judge him for what his family member did, but I do know that he never attended church until his 1st term, his dad & mom were avid church goers & donated much $'s and even r.r.'s 2 adopted nephews were at church every sunday but no r.r. so what is good for one is good for the other, and I have said it time & time again, you can lie to anyone you want but if you use god or the church to win an election, then you will lose, no candidate/politician is innocent of all rumors or gossip but good night, (pot,kettle,calling black) yeah I thought so.

I hate that you cant accept the facts. I am not saying that Hammons isnt a christian I am just saying that it is wrong to do what he is doing. Church is no place to bring politics. He could have done better in his 2 terms and he hasnt. He just keeps his arms in the air. ANYBODY can do that. What can you not accept about what I wrote it is all true and you evidently know it? You mind telling us what evidence you have other than hearsay and gossip. Having known Mr. Hammons for the past 20 years I have never known him to "use" the church as you say. The integrity of Mr. Hammons has never been a question. For some reason Christianity seems to frighten you as well it should considering where you may be heading in the afterlife with all the hate and strife you seem to have going on. The rumors about sign stealing are nothing more than a lie and you my friend are the biggest LIAR of all. And that is the facts.

What are you scared to that it is time for a change? Why would one of his ex-deputies lie about it he had nothing to lose or gain from it. He was the same political party as Hammons was. Dont throw rocks at glass houses because it can come back and bite you in the @ss! You can know someone and not know everything about them!
