■ Christmas Angels Program. The program is a non-profit organization that was created to help low income families receive clothing and toys for Christmas. ■ Haysi library announces December events. Crafts with Reginia will be held each Tuesday. Dec. 18 at 2 p.m.: Chicken Scratch. Learn the basic technique, then pick a project to work on. Examples of this needle craft is on display at the library. Please pre-register. Dec. 18 at 4 p.m.: Teen Scene, an after school program for ages 12-18. Dec. 20: Family Fun, a community Christmas. All day punch and cookies will be available as a way of saying “thank you” to patrons of the library for a wonderful year. Dec. 20 at 5:30 p.m.: Family Movie Night featuring a holiday classic about a reindeer with a glowing nose. Hot chocolate and popcorn provided. The library will be closed Dec. 24, 25 and 26 for Christmas. All basic materials will be provided for scrapbooking. Call the library at 865-4851 for more information about any of the events.
■ Library Outreach program set at Clinchco. Books-By-Mail department of Lonesome Pine Regional Library will hold the Library Outreach Program the first Tuesday of each month beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Clinchco Senior Citizens Center. For more information, call 276-328-4806.
■ Haysi library announces events. Book Buddies, an after school program for grades K-7. Snack will be provided. Storytime, 10-11 a.m.: For children ages 3-5 meets each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Toddlertime, 1-1:30 p.m.: For two-year-old children meets each Wednesday. Mother Goose, 11:30 a.m. until noon: Meets each Friday for children 0-24 months.
■ Historical society member drive under way. The Dickenson County Historical Society is in the process of seeking new members. The organization is small and are looking for members young and old. Those interested in the history of the county and preserving the history are welcome. Annual dues are $5 for single and $7.50 per couple. Call 926-4914 for more information.
