Brian Patton

Brian is hoping to be anointed as the next county administrator. Bad choice for no reason other than he is way too political and is the county democrat chairman. That wouldn't look good on the new BOS and I'm not at all sure BP could keep his rabid political beliefs and agenda from clouding his decision making process. That's exactly what the voters of this county voted to rid us of and we don't need to replace one person with just another clone with a different face. Better choices are out there.

politics cloud his business sense, do you? He has always been a level-headed young man imo. I am not of the same politics as he but he would seem to be a good choice. I can't see him giving up his law practice for the position, tho. I also think Mr. Viers is doing a good job - maybe he will retain his position. I know we need some new blood but sometimes the old tried & true is the bet way. Guess we will wait/see.

Was there...

Indeed, I was present for this Board's last meeting. I was mainly curious what they would do with their final days in office, and I'll admit it, I was also figuring there might be some fireworks.

Additionally, it is not unusual for me to attend meetings, as I often have over the last few years. I enjoy knowing how my tax dollars are being spent.

As for the county attorney position, as far as I know Bud Phillips, the current county attorney, will be asked to remain with the new board.

I can say for certain that the new board has never approached me about it. Besides, I am very happy in my current position as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Russell County.
