Picture Contest
Submit your photos for our contest. Submit photos of people, places, nature, celebrations or whatever you like.
ELEGIBILITY: Anyone is eligible to enter this contest. However, the pictures submitted must be your own work and cannot have been published or sold professionally prior to this contest. Contestants shall retain ownership of their submitted photos, but grant Dickenson411 permission to use the photos for advertising purposes. Winners of the contest agree to allow Dickenson411 to publish their name on the website.
VOTING: Submissions for the contest will be accepted through January 31, 2008, at which time voting will begin. Voting will last for a period of 10 days. You may vote for as many different entries as you wish, but you may only vote once for each submission. Duplicate votes from the same person for the same entry will be removed. Duplicate votes for the same entry by a contestant may result in disqualification.
JUDGING: Once the voting period has ended, the top 10 entries will be voted on by a panel of judges to determine 1st, 2nd and the 3rd place winners.
The following topics will be judged for the photo contest:
1.Composition and complexity
Are photographic elements of interest emphasized or accentuated by the composition?
Does the photo convey a scene's complexity or distill a complex scene into its base fundamentals?
2.Creativity
Was the subject matter selected pictured in a unique way or was something common shown from a nontraditional point-of-view?
Does the photo demonstrate originality?
3. Technical quality
Is the photo in focus?
Is the lighting acceptable?
4. General aesthetic quality
Is the subject material or the landscape pictured especially breathtaking?
Any other general comments or concerns not addressed above?
PRIZES:
1st place shall receive a 1 gigabyte mp3 player preloaded with over 100 Country Songs, including complete and newest albums by Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, and more.
The total cash value for first place is estimated to be $200.00.
2nd Place will receive A 1 gigabyte mp3 player plus $50 cash.
The total cash value for second place is estimated to be $100.00.
3rd place will receive a 1 gigabyte mp3 player.
The total cash value for third place is estimated to be $50.00.
In the event that prizes are unavilable, comparable prizes and/or cash will be substituted.
