What I know of Mr. Sykes he has all kinds of common sense. Maybe that is what we need here is someone to make decisions based on sound judgment. I think we need to give him a chance. I am not a history (or English) scholar, but I bet that some of the best leaders of this country we have ever had was just plain ol country folks. Some of the most talented and smartest individuals I know does or did not have an education. Don’t knock the man for what he does or does not have, judge him on his actions. There have only been a few meetings, lets give him a chance.

The man hasn't even been in office 1 month and hasn't made any haste decisions yet and people say they are ashamed of them. Ashame on them! What I understand is he went to Richmond for the lobby trip and did quite well. It was a learning experience for him and it is for anyone who starts this.

Final notice: Gene Counts will never be back on the BOS. Face it, Mr. sykes beat the man not once, but twice!

Has done alot and will be involved in the county soon from what I hear.He knows how to get thing going with trails the parks and tourisium and roads and he does a good job.He knows how to talk to the people .

Tell me what he has done with the exception of running his mouth. Haven't seen the first trail he is responsible for. Guess you're referring to the grant that he has had on his desk since the early 1990's for the Haysi-Bartlick trail that will never be accomplished as long as he has it. What new parks are you referring to and I love the brand new raods he has paved.
Actaully we souldn't even be talking about this man because he is a non-factor in the progress of Dickenson County now. Mr. Sykes is now our representative.
