My answer to all of you John McCain fanatics.

Sorry that I haven't responded earlier, I have had one hectic week! so here I am now.

My thoughts on why I think John McCain is more liberal than conservative:

He has flip flopped on so many issues since the recent years that it is almost pathetic. He is the kind of guy that tells the people what they want to hear. I don't even think he has issues that he truly believes in.

On the issue of gay marriage, in 2005 McCain opposed a federal gay-marriage ban. Now, however, likely realizing that most Americans think otherwise, McCain says he supports a gay-marriage ban. Seriously, this not an issue that you can think one thing one year and three years later think otherwise, don't think so.

Then, regarding abortion, McCain sided with the pro-abortion camp, suggesting that overturning Roe v. Wade would lead to illegal abortions. Now all of a sudden he is pro-life. haha sure he is.

Oh, and who could forget his thoughts on immigration. He is actually more liberal on that thought then the Clintons, and thats pretty darn liberal folks.

So, you're saying that a REPUBLICAN candidate can give a quote such as evangelical Christian leaders "agents of intolerance"--direct quote people, and actually be a REPUBLICAN? that's a big no no! Most (not all) but MOST Conservative leaders pretty much play the card of in simple terms: Democrats aren't Christian people. Don't even try to deny this. I have defended this issue from Conservatives since I was old enough to know the difference between a Liberal and Conservative and trust me, that wasn't long after diapers.

I'm not bashing the man, why would I bash him? he is infact on MY SIDE. . well, he was back in the day, it's 2008 and he's running for President I guess he'll try to be a Republican right now but he'll change his mind later I'm sure. So all of you Conservatives that love him oh so very much should probably look into his background check and what his beliefs used to be. Not what he SAYS his beliefs are now. It changes like the seasons.

In the past he (McCain)has been pretty liberal for a Republican and I must say I am a little hesitant about voting for him in the primary since I am split between Romney and Huckebee. All this talk about being"liberal" makes me think it is like uttering the F word at the supper table. I guess it is pretty much the same thing I guess. Its funny though when you think about it. A Democrat will not run from a conservative label if his party rivals try to label him such but if a libeal stamp is placed on a Republican they run from it and deny it.

My 2 cents.

That is because with a conservative Democrat you get the best of both worlds, you get a F.D.R. Democrat.

I'm very disappointed that McCain is so close to becoming the republican nominee. It's looking to me like the two major parties in america are:

1. Fairly Liberal(republican)
2. Extremely Liberal(democrat

McCain, like Ike, is not democrat or repulican, liberal or conservative. He's an American

The bold brush of labels can't be as easily applied as it can to lesser men (or women). He is an officer and a gentleman, who has been trained to exercise selfless service. To do what he thinks is in the best interest of the country, not his party. I know that's a foreign concept to many, but it's a way of life for a professional military officer.

Hello . . .

February 1 2008, 11:38 AM

is anybody home? We are all Americans. McCain is a professional politician. He changes like the wind, that is what you call a progressive. A conservative is not a person but a movement. A movement that believes less government is best. A movement that believes that individuals have the God given capacity to best govern themselves. We don't need the government to take care of us, redistribute our wealth, interfere with our free speech, etc. We need the government to defend and protect us. I want a true conservative in the white house. Just because McCain is strong on national defense and is a true war hero (that I respect very much for that) does not mean he is the man/woman for the job.

A true conservative:

He also served in the U.S. Air Force as a flight surgeon during the time of the Vietnam War.

Name a better option in the final 4.

We'll know better after Tuesday, but it looks like he is clearly the best man for the job.

Some of Tubby's philosophies are too liberal.

However, he is strong on defense. But, his furture doesn't look promising since his move to Minnesota. Hayden Fox is the only success story from the great white north. And Hubert Humphrey I guess.

McCain's platform sounds good to me.
