******SHOCKING*****No Shrimp Eating Allowed

We need to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view.---Mike Huckabee

Shrimp, crab, lobster, clams, mussels, all these are an abomination before the Lord, just as gays are an abomination. Why stop at protesting gay marriage? Bring all of God's law unto the heathens and the sodomites. We call upon all Christians to join the crusade against Long John Silver's and Red Lobster. Yea, even Popeye's shall be cleansed. The name of Bubba shall be anathema. We must stop the unbelievers from destroying the sanctity of our restaurants.

Leviticus 11:9-12 says:
9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

Deuteronomy 14:9-10 says:
9 These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:
10 And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.

Gays

February 6 2008, 9:12 PM

Homosexuals are the least of my worries. March begins year 6 in Iraq, a war that has cost Americans 474 billion dollars and counting, nearly 4,000 American lives, and countless years of rebuilding another unstable country. Domestically, gas is $3.00/gallon, milk is $5.00/gallon, the value of the dollar is plummeting, people are losing their mortgages to their homes, and we have a $9 trillion deficit (1/4 of which is owned by the Chinese).

I don't support homosexuals, or abortions for that matter. In reality though, both of these so called prominent issues are irrelevant in light of what the country is facing today. I'm a Christian, and I wonder now in 2008 how much supporting George W. Bush for the last eight years has helped to promote our values? Homosexuals are still getting married, babies are still being aborted. In the meantime, what used to be a fairly routine month-to-month budget has gotten stretched as far as it can go.

I'll trade the moral bickering, especially amongst mainline Republicans and Bible Belt Conservatives, for a debate about how to restore America's prominence in the world, how to reduce the deficit, and how to make middle-class living more like middle-class living again. I'm no longer a values voter.

Not to quibble, but where is milk $5.00/gallon?

February 7 2008, 6:56 AM

Honest question, since I get it for $3.00. I too, am ticked about gas prices. War in Iraq, albeit expensive and has cost lives, is a necessary fight in the war on terror. Just my humble opinion.

$5.00 a gallon

February 7 2008, 9:48 AM

I don't know where you buy your milk but at Food City where I buy mine most of the time the prices range from over 3 something a gallon up to $4.99 (which would be over $5.00 a gallon after tax) a gallon for their most expensive store brand. I bought milk at Wal Mart the other day and noticed it had went from $3 and I believe 80 something cents a gallon to way over $4.00 a gallon. I have a feeling before the end of the year it will be close to $6.00 if not over that for a gallon. Hope I'm wrong on that.

I should have said that the price I gave at Wal Mart was their store brand of milk. The PET brand is waaaaaaaaay more.

It is not a sin to eat shrimp!

If you think it is a sin, what do you think about the "Makers Diet"? Guess what...they eat shrimp and lots of fish.

Am I totally missing the point of this conversation? If I am please correct me.

A WEAK ARGUMENT, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE.

February 7 2008, 1:51 PM

This is a weak argument, because you don't even understand the difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament. When Christ died on the cross the Old Law/Moses Law, was nailed to the cross and New Law/More Perfect Law, was made which is the New Testament. Homosexuality was condemned in the Old Law and it is condemned under the New Law. Perhaps you need to study a bit more before you go throwing around scriptures that you clearly do not understand are no longer in affect. You see, the Old Law/Old Testament is for us to study, but we no longer adhere to its teachings unless they are restated in the New Testament. Such as sacrifices. The Old Law taught that animal sacrifices were necessary, the new law no loner asks us for that, just as abstaining from meat is no longer a command.

I fear many people who want to fight the homosexuality issue have little to no knowledge about the Bible and only know how to find passages that they think will give them room to say homosexuality is okay. You will never find it, because it isn't there. The simple way our bodies are designed proves that 2 women or 2 men aren't made for one another. It's just like trying to use 2 pots to cook with or 2 ladles. You can't stir very well with two pots and you can't cook very well with two ladles. It's all in the design, even if you don't want to believe the Bible, believe you body.

ONCE AGAIN, YOUR IGNORANCE PREVAILS YOU.

February 7 2008, 3:38 PM

Did you not understand a word I said to you?

What was one of the main jobs in the days that John, Paul, Andrew, James, and the apostles walked the earth? Hmm? What did many of them do? What was Simon Peter and Andrew doing in the New Testament in Matthew 4:18? They were fishing!

You cannot base your argument that homosexuality and the eating of fish are the same thing. The books you are using are from the Old Testament, do you even realize this? We are not bound by the Old Testament anymore. Until you understand this, you have no basis for your argument and no logic in your stance. If your going to use the Bible as your platform for an argument, you need to understand it first.

They aren't called Seafoodman.

Still, you have nothing to fall back on. Until you recognize that the passages you are talking about refer to the Israelites in the Old Testament and not those of us today, you are like a stick in the mud. You have no basis for your argument so stop posting the passages from the Old Testament and find some in the New Testament that back you up.

Romans 14:2,3
One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him.

Romans 14:20

Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean....

Colossians 2:16
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

1 Corinthians 10:23-27
23"Everything is permissible"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"—but not everything is constructive. 24Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.

25Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience, 26for, "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it."

27If some unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you without raising questions of conscience.

Romans 14:17

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

The passage you referred to was taught prior to Christ's death. You must understand this. The Old Law/Mosacial Law was adhered to until that time that the new law was delivered. Paul is not above Christ, but he was an apostle, whose teachings came from the Holy Spirit of God.

Romans 7:6
But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

Matthew 5:17-18
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Jesus is saying that the only other thing that would cause the law to pass away, as law, other than the fulfillment of prophecy (Christ's Death, Burial, Resurrection, and Ascension) would be the passing away of Heaven and Earth. The prophecy was fulfilled, thus the "jot and tittle" of the law have passed away.

The Old Law of Moses is all the commandments that God gave the people of Israel through Moses. (John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.) The Law has been changed (Hebrews 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.) (Hebrews 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.)Jesus is now the mediator of a better covenant, which was enacted over better promises.

We are now under the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.) (James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.)

YOU NEED TO TAKE GREAT HEED: THE OLD LAW OF MOSES HAS BEEN NAILED TO THE CROSS AND IS MADE NULL AND VOID TO US TODAY AS LAW! (COLOSSIANS 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.)

WHAT YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO DO IS TO WREST OR TWIST THE SCRIPTURES TO SUIT YOURSELF. THIS YOU DO UNTO YOUR OWN DESTRUCTION (2 PET 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.)

PLEASE STOP THIS! PLEASE REPENT OF YOUR EFFORTS TO DEFEND THE DEMONIC AND UNRIGHTEOUS ACTIVITY OF HOMOSEXUALITY.

Jesus said TILL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS AND TILL ALL BE FULFILED. That didnt happen when Jesus died hes talking about the end of the world.

Now what you say isnt a literel reading of the word. Your saying to read into it for more than it says. You saying we cant literaly interpert the bible and has to forget all the old testament end of the world prophecies like in daniel that havnt been fulfiled. Jesus sayes he didnt come to destroy the law and itll stay whole until the end of time and alls fulfiled. Your version of things reads things into it that aint there and throw out the unfilled prophecies.

Repent of your addditions to the word!!!!!!!! Repent of your shrimp eating abomination!!!!!!!!!!!

Responding.

February 8 2008, 12:55 PM

You have misunderstood my position. What Jesus IS talking about IS, the passing of the world/end of the world, but He is saying that the only two thing’s that would end the old law, as law would be either/or THE END OF TIME or THE FULFILLING OF THE PROPHECY OF THE MESSIAH!

We know and understand that the world will not end until sometime after the Messiah would come and fulfill prophecy, thus it is saying that the coming of the Messiah and His fulfillments of said prophecies would do away with the old law as law and it would be replaced with the new and more perfect law of liberty which is the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Please answer the following questions.

1. If we are still under the law of Moses why did Paul rebuke those who sought to be justified by the law, saying they had fallen from grace by doing so? Gal 5:4

2. Are you a blood descendant to the Israelite nation? Because if your not, the law of Moses could never apply to you, because it was only made applicable to the nation of Israel. Neh 10:29, Mal 4:4, Duet. 5. This law was NEVER given to other nations (Gentiles.) Duet. 4:8, Rom. 2:14

3. What prophecies in Daniel are you saying haven’t been fulfilled?

I'm sorry your offended and I take it seriously what you say.

February 11 2008, 1:02 AM

It is not my intention of making anyone feel as though I'm overtaking their freedom of religion rights. I don't know why you would call me an idiot, when you don't know me. All you have read is messages that I responded to. I feel that "Huck Up" is misunderstanding certain scripture. They are trying to say that the eating of shrimp is the equivalent of homosexuality. I did my best to quote scripture to help them understand the Bible. I feel you calling me an idiot is not fair and not right. I don't appreciate your attitude or tone, because I haven't spoken to you personally and you call me an idiot without even addressing me once prior to this message, therefore you have no grounds for calling me an idiot. You may even know me for that matter.

I think if you read all my messages clearly and the entire thread, you would see that I have done nothing but use scripture clearly to backup my argument. I'm not sure if you want to start a racket or what it is your intentions are, but calling me an idiot will get you no where fast. Why? Because you have insulted me. Insults and slander are terrible ways to make friends or get your point across. I hope that you will know that I love God, I serve God, and being with Him in Heaven is my ultimate goal. I also think that you should view anyone who loves God in a good light, because they have their heart and mind in the right place. Huck Up is only trying to bias people against Mike Huckabee, they do not care about whether or not we serve God and seek to obey Him. He/She wants us to not vote for Mike, because Mike is against homosexuality. I believe you need to rethink who the idiot is, because it certainly isn't me.

May God put on your heart to be a far less judgmental person and to spread kindness throughout the world.
