Have you Thanked God today!February 6 2008 at 2:01 PM | Preacher Man |
| In this day and age, manners seem to have gone right out the window. Our younger generations are not learning the manners that we in older generations were taught as a way of everyday living. But for those of us who do know our manners, most of the time it is not a hard thing to say "Thank You" to someone who has helped us out with something. Our waitress brings our food to us when we eat out and we say "Thank You". You buy gas at one of the few places around where someone will still pump your gas for you and we say "Thank You". Someone holds the door open for you and you say "Thank You". When someone does or says something nice to us it is the polite and usual response to offer a kind "Thank You" for the nice thing they have done for us. So, if it is so easy for us to say "Thank You" to a friend or stranger for an act of kindness, why is it so hard for us to offer the same appreciation for the one responsible for us being here; God. Our Heavenly father has done so much for us - he has given us life, he has given us our families, he has given us this wonderful world and all its beauty to live in - but we are so ungrateful at times. We are quick to ask him for help when we are in trouble. We offer up our prayers for friends and loved ones who are suffering with some disease or sickness. We ask forgiveness for our sins. The one thing that we do not do enough of is to simply say "Thank You" to God for all the answered prayers, for every breath we breath, for the health we have. In the Bible, in the book of Hosea, the Israelites had forsaken God and were serving idols. They had forgotten all that God had done for them. They were perfectly willing to continue to observe the rituals of their faith and to cry out to God in all their trouble, and to enjoy all the gifts that God was bestowing on them, but their hearts and their appreciation was far from God and he was ready to punish them for their evil deeds.
Many of us today are living our lives much the same way. We profess a belief in God and we attend Church on Sunday, and we are faithful to pray and ask God for the things we need. But we, in many ways are acting like the Israelites in Hosea's day. We put other things in this life before God, and we are perfectly content to enjoy the blessings and riches that he has given us, but when it comes to saying "Thank You" we are sorely lacking. God wants to bless us and do wonderful things in our lives, but he also wants us to worship him and praise him for what he has done and is doing for us. We need to be truly thankful everyday to God for what he does for, in, and through us.
Take time today and everyday to simply say "Thank You" to God for all he has done for you and let him know that you appreciate all that he does in our lives each day. |

| I was talking about how you feel about poor people. Remember these posts? | February 10 2008, 6:21 PM |
Do you remember these posts you made on the Clinchco board? The Bible says love poor people not criticize them for their circumstances.
(EVERYONE should go to the Clinchco board to read the whole thread. It is VERY enlightening.)
...most people from Clinchco (edited for violating multi-name same thread rule)

Notice I said Most not all of them. But most are uneducated, on welfare. and just plain nasty and they probably really DONT have anything else to do.
Sorry I used another name

I wasnt trying to hide who I am. I didnt say all of people in Clinchco. I DID say most. I'm sorry but Ive said it before The truth hurts. People cant help how they are raised. Alot dont know any better. I didnt dare name names and I pray for these people. But I'm only human and I get so tired of lazy freeloaders. Poor Audrey just wished her grandson happy b-day and look what these people have said to and about her. Why cut people like this. My message was for people like that. Lord forgive me, but that is enough. Just like the person who asked Shadow about exposing peoples past. Oh my goodness!!!! What kind of a person is that???? You people dont know me. I would give the shirt off my back to help someone in need. I REALLY WOULD> But I speak the truth. Sometimes you dont want to hear it. I'm sorry. This discussion is over for me. I wont be responding to thie subject.

| I dont "FEEL" any certain way about poor people | February 11 2008, 2:27 PM |
I'm sure not rich. People that wont help themselves is what gets to me. You know the ones standing around with their hand out. I'm sorry but i cant tolerate freeloaders. Some people cant help it due to certain circumstances such as illness. That is sad. I really have compassion for them. Nobody gave me anything and I done expect them too. I worked for everything I have. | |
