I can see why you did put your name on here. I cannot believe people cannot spell or make complete sentences. Wish HaysiGal would take ANYONE off who cannot spell a simple word like "caught!" |

In response. Now you understand why so many people from outside of our area stereotype us...., backwoods, "can't talk right." Why the hell should I be ashamed of correcting someone's proper spelling of a word or how to write a complete sentence. Old or young! So you are saying just because I come from the mountains I should be low class and not have an education? I for one will continue to address this. Just because I am from the hills doesn't make me illiterate. If having an education and being able to spell and write sentences, then, so be it. I am better than you in respect that I am not a low class uneducated hillbilly. |

"If having an education and being able to spell and write sentences, then, so be it." is not a proper sentence either. |

you should be ashamed of making fun of someone's spelling, many of our older ppl didn't have the opportunity we've had to get an education. They have learned by themselves and im proud of them for at least trying and you should be also. |

Hey lighten up! You know I've lived in a large metropolitan area in the past and met many people from many states. Most of those people were really great people and never gave me a hard time about my accent or anything. They became my good friends.
A lot of people seem to be worried about what others out of this area think about us here. Well, I think some people are just worrying for nothing. Most people are going to judge each individual for their own merits. Those people are not as biased towards country folks as you might think. Also, some people in those large city areas have problems with their own English and Spelling usage. |

everyone should go to Hillbilly days in Pikeville,i have friends who come fr Ohio every year and enjoy it very much,so what if we don't spell everything right,we still say YES MAM and THANK YOU.We still talk with ppl in the aisle at the grocery store whether we know them or not,in fact i've met some wonderful people just by showing myself friendly to strangers.to me a stranger is just a friend i've never met. so lets say YEE HAW and remain hillbilly's until we die. |

You know, its all good.............it just that some of the folks that was supposed to be in school and college was fighting wars and conflicts abroad; just so folks like us are able to speak our mind and worry ourselves about needless things. Folks always remember The Tennessee Guy told you first.
(HARD TIMES ARE COMING) we haven't had hard time in a while but they are coming.
Now if you think you little Virginia's Baby is depressed now, just wait. |
