■ Male benefit beauty pageant planned. A male beauty pageant to benefit Dickenson County Kid’s Fishing Day will be held at Clinchco Elementary School at 6 p.m. on March 29. Admission is $5 and $3 for ages 15 and under. The local band, Hilster will be featured.

■ Haysi library announces March schedule of events. March 18: terracotta pot decorating at 2 p.m. Participants are asked to bring a terracotta pot, all other materials provided. March 18: Teen Scene for young adults ages 12-18 will meet at 4 p.m. March 20: Family movie night at 5:30 p.m. Call the library for the movie title. Popcorn and drink provided. March 25: Stepping stone decorating at 2 p.m. Please bring your own stepping stone, all other materials provided. March 27: Evening family fun at 6 p.m. Storytime is held each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-11 a.m. Toddlertime meets each Wednesday at 1 p.m. Mother Goose meets each Friday at 11:30 a.m. For more information about any programs, call the library at 865-4851.

■ Relay for Life team fund raiser under way. Haysi High School Relay for Life Team is selling photo certificates. The cost of each certificate is $9.95 and will include a choice of the Family Portrait certificate or the Treasures in the Attic certificate. All photos will b e taken at Haysi High School the last weekend in March. For more information, contact Lisa Rife at 865-5126.

■ Youth soccer registration set. Dickenson County Youth Soccer registration will be held Saturday, March 15 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Clintwood United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall (across from Advance Auto Parts, Main Street). ■ Softball tryouts planned. Wise County Thunder traveling softball team will host tryouts for new players who turned 10 years old before Jan. 1. For more information, call Tonya Counts at 926-4505 or Randall Tankersly at 393-2745.
