| After listening to me gripe for two decades my wife sweetie has encouraged me to review area businesses. The first thing I noticed is that sweetie and I eat out a lot. The second is that she will encourage me to do anything that shuts me up. The critics first review will be of an area institution. The Pizza factory.
On both my trips the food was good, the pizza is excellent although just a little greasy for some in our party. But I,cardiologist be damned loved it. And the hamburger steak dinner was alright. The place was clean and quite and thanks to catching the right people there I got to catch up on some gossip. Shame on you people.lol.
The venerable Pizza Factory which apparently has been in business in Haysi since the mid eighties is probably worth your greenback. My only real gripe was with the service. If you ask for anything you might get it and you might get a minute long talk about why the server is so busy. Or she might look at you like you just asked her for a kidney and say honey I will get it when I get the chance.
I found it to be a little expensive but no worse than everything else these days I guess. So if you are not in a hurry I would recommend it, and somebody please find a way to make that woman smile.

My husband and I get pizza there alot. Don't know of any other pizza place that you can get 2 large pepperoni pizzas for $16.16 after tax. |

Getting that woman to smile is not going to happen!
The service is very very slow. I also would like to add this is the only pizza joint in DC that does not have refills on drinks so you have to conserve! That kinda sucks as well.

That is so true. She is very hateful and act as if you want her head to be chopped off. I think the owners should consider letting her go. |

Yes,
I agree with all these other people about the Pizza Factory. The food is the best in town, but that lady is so hateful that if you ask for anything she acts like she could bite your head off, or say when I get time, I am busy.Looks like the owner would have a talk with her because if I were the owner I sure wouldnt want my custmors to go some where else. she sure doesnt want anyone to leave her a good tip.... or she wouldnt act like that. If they dont want to fire her, stick he old hateful butt in back where she doesnt have to be seen!!
people like to sit down and have a nice pleasant meal.... |

You need to know how to take her. In fact she is a very nice person, and no I am not related. I have just ate there for years. I ate there today and as always it is the best food you will find in Dickenson County, in my opinion. As far as tips go, it has been my understanding everywhere in our little county that a lot of people just don't tip. Well that is a shame especially for those who depend on tips as earnings to make their living. The last time I checked I believe a waitress can be paid as little as 2 or 3 dollars per hour. I am speaking of restaurants in general everywhere, not necessarily Pizza Factory, I don't have any idea how they compensate their employees. I do believe that those ladies work hard on a daily basis, and one might consider that if one of them is having a bad day. | |
