Local woman indicted on embezzlement charge

A Clinchco resident was indicted by a Wise County grand jury last week for embezzlement.

Amber Michelle Adams, age 22, of P.O. Box 533, 135 Carson St., Clinchco, and 906 SE Cross Ave, Wise was indicted on one count of embezzlement from Alpha Sigma Tau Society, seven counts of forging checks belonging to Alpha Sigma Tau Society in an amount totaling $1,175 and seven counts of uttering forged checks.

Adams faces a maximum punishment of 160 years in prison — 20 years on the embezzlement charge, plus 10 years on each of the forgery and uttering charges.

she would have been better off killing someone I suppose; we all know murderers get less time than that around here.

holly cow 160 years for smaller amount of money than drug dealers gets caught with when they get caught that is, and way way less time in jail for there crimes and the druggies causing deaths by the dozens when they sell, all they get is shake on the hand with a grin thats wrong with the system?goes to show how much it's in bad shape. what she done was wrong but my of my that many years it's unreal. I also like to add that the drug round up was great, we just need more of it more often and not let them off with a hand shake and smile. we just need now to what and see how much time the drug heads that was arrested gets in jail if any,
