I am looking for the family of Oscar Mayo Mullins killed in belgium on the 26th of december 1944. he was form Haysi VA I found his dogtag. let me know if you have information
My Grandparents had a gold star copy of veterans from DC. Oscar died stopping an advance of German Panzer Tanks with his tank destroyer. I think he blew up four before his destroyer was blown up by German Tank Fire. This action allowed his company to escape and earned him the DSC. Its been fifty + years since I read that book but the name like Vietnam War Hero Onsby Rose who won the DSC evokes memories. Ronnie Robbins should be ASHAMED for the war stories he told Kids at Clinchco Elementary and other schools about his make believe missions in Southeast asia and vietnam when he was never there. JMO
I would like to mention Buddy Phipps and Godfrey Blankenship from Haysi. They both died in Viet Nam. Buddy lost his life in Viet Nam only 22 days after he arrived there. I remember going to school with Onsby. He was the first to get killed in Viet Nam who was from Dickenson County. Anyone who fights for this country is a hero in my eyes. Where, exactly, was Ronnie Robbins stationed in Viet Nam?
Saw any overseas duty or was ever in southeast asia or vietnam according to offical government records. His fraudulent military records(DD214s) are in the hands of the FBI and Defense Dept. Where they charge him or not is a big question. One thing for certain the people of DC now know the truth and God definitely does. The big question is does Robbins really believes he was in Vietnam and was on a secret mission. JMHO.
Hello,
The dogtag of Oscar Mullins was given to me by a friend who bought it at a fair in Belgium. We always check the names and try to find the family so they can be returned where they belong. I will notify the superintendent of the Ardennes Cemetery in Belgium because Oscar Mullins is mentioned on the wall of missing there. Meanwhile, maybe someone on this forum can help me to locate his family. I would like to return the tag to his family. Please visit www.luckyseventh.nl run by friends of mine. Please click foto's and then Monument Ospel. Here you can see some photos of the monument I erected for the U.S 7th Armored Division that liberated my town in Holland in 1944. 48 names are on there of soldiers who were forgotten. It took me 4 years in collaboration with a son of a ww2 veteran to find their names. I am sharing this information with you so you know a little about me. I would appreciate all the help I can get to find the family of Oscar Mullings. It would mean a great deal to them to get his identification tag.
Best regards,
Nick hendrix
