I haven't been on here in a while or I would have already posted about my MOST RECENT & LAST VISIT there....
I have been a loyal customer of the restaurant in Sandlick for many years now but a recent visit there turned my stomach & resulted in me & my family walking out & going home to grill out.
As we we were waiting on our order, a small mouse scampered out of the dining area & into the kitchen. Then to top it all off, after we received our orders, I found a dark-colored hair in my cheeseburger, needless to say, our entire family has light hair. At this point, we simply left our dinner on the table & walked out. This was after paying for the meal that was ridiculously over-priced. After looking over their new menu and their new prices, we realized that everything that the menu offered had at least doubled in price. $5.00 for a hamburger-come on now. I can never recall it being that highly priced before.

& as far as the Owner's Daughters comment posted below, PLEASE, you have got to be joking!! It's a small town & people have known for years how crooked people can & always have been. Regardless of your line of defense, people know enough to see through it!!!

They have definetly lost my business for good, as well as, the business of my family that have been loyal customers of the restaraunt for years. SADLY ENOUGH, the name of a great restaurant was runied in a matter of nothing other than a change of ownership.

The coolers are turned down so low that you are better off buying a warm 12 pack of pop to drink. It is impossible to buy beer there without going home & putting it into your freezer or refrigerator before you can even stand to drink it. If they really valued their business and cared about keeping it, it would seem that they would care a little more about keeping their customers satisfied & happy instead of saving a dollar or 2 on the electric bill. As far as the gas prices dropping goes, they would have never dropped one red cent if it had not been made into public discussion. They would still be ripping people off out of every possible dime that they could, which, is something that they will always do, regardless.

I guess that is why you can't find a place to park at JDM #2 now. You almost have to park in front of the buildings in the lower parking lot to get into JDM at times. JDM definetly gets all of my business. Even if I have to wait in line for 5 minutes longer. It's worth it, #1-because their prices are twice as cheap, #2-the ownership shows their customers that they value their business, #3-they are not gossip central, #4-you actually feel welcome, & #5-you know that you are not being talked about like a dog as you pull out of the parking lot.

When you do stop at Rt.80 Mini-Mart, it never fails that you hear them talking about someone that was good enough to spend a dollar at their store. Do they not realize that people talk about their ways of crooking people just as bad as they do when they look down on other people with the attitude that they are so much better than everyone else?? You would think they would appreciate the few true customers that they do have left, which other than Ramey employees, are few & far between.

They stopped getting my business quiet some time ago & as long as they are the owners, that store will never get my business back.

anyone that has been in our store knows its not that way and as for the coolers we did have a cooler to go down but tell me what store hasn't in time, but it was fixed as soon as I could get someone in to fix it....as I said anyone that comes in the store knows the truth. come on down and we can talk about it...........

You see my name up there don't you and now i will tell you my opinion on all of this.I went there and ask for a job i have known these people for many year's.But i needed a job and i keep to myself and mind my own business so i thought it would be ok.They knew my work record how i never missed a day's work for anything snow or anything else.And they had even ask people where i was at they wanted to give me a job when they bought the place.But when i went up there i have 1 very small disability you can not see or even know unless you are around me alot.But i wasn't good enough for them.But i sure could pull 12-16 hour's elsewhere so the way i feel as much as been known that has gone on with the one company.They have no right to look down on anybody at all and as for kicking my A** well just let me know when.I've never run from a good fight but you may get a big surprise.

You know there are sure a lot of different people working up there. I haven't seen too many of the same people very many times I have been there.

they do their employees so dirty that they cannot keep them & that doesn't just go for the store. That even goes for the Ramey Ent. business. Can you believe that they charge their employees $20 per week just to have a charge account at their store?? Equitable & Arvilla employees are offered a discount at their businesses & their own employees aren't...What a rip-off!!

As far as the post from BlueFire goes, I agree 100%...You go girl!! It's about time people start taking a stand & putting them into their right place. I have read the posts above & at this point in time, I am more than willing to voice my opinion, which is based of the TRUE facts of the situation & as you can see above I am not hiding who I am.

As far as them making an honest living by running a business goes, What would people think to know how they really got their start..I guess they have forgotten about paying a 12 year old minor child (@that time) to do things so they could collect insurance monies on a home & equipment while they were coincidently out of town, which is how they got where they are today. HONEST living, huh??
On another note, they are in numerous violations of Federal & State Labor Laws, which are being investigated at this current time & of course these violations are putting more money in their pockets. They force their employees to drive unsafe vehicles, which cannot pass State DOT inspections, & these vehicles require a Commercial Driver's License to operate, which they do not have either. The employees have a choice to either drive them or to be fired. Fair & honest, right?!

As far as the owner goes, you don't have to "wonder who I am", 'cause you already know. Instead of telling someone else to say something to me, on your behalf, why not grow enough nerve to say it yourself, as you were told to do at that point in time, instead of wanting to through a 3rd party?

it's good to no that some one else know's these people like other's do and have had dealings with them.i have been around for a good many years an have seen alot of crooked things in my life but that don't make it right.good people don't need to be treated that way they pay there way to and have to work hard for there money to.i have knowed these people since there youngins were babes and have watched them grow up they are good youngins very nice.

The younger girl is nice, but the one with the kids thinks her stuff don't stink..if she were to smile I would faint dead away.

I grew up with the momma of these young ladie's and was around when they were growing up.Their momma has alway's been very good to me up til she saw me not long after they bought the place and i ask her was they doing any hiring.She looked at me and yeah i do have a disability but it's never stopped me before and won't stop me now.People that have to work to survive do what they have to make an Honest living.But i was told they weren't hiring only to find out 2 day's later they were needing people.But i was ok with that she just don't hire people with disabilities that's her choice.As for the girl's they have alway's gone out of their way to speak to me when they see me and have alway's been very nice.I know the other Co.Ramey work's older people on disability know some of them personally guess it don't matter about that.But i can say this you would have gotten 110% of work out of me and then some.More then i can say for most and i am Clean and Drug Free not alot of them around either.

First, I want to say if you feel that I didn't hire you because of a disability, I'm sorry, because I'm not that kinda person, there must have been some other reason that I did not hire you, if you grew up with me..... then you should know what kinda person I am?? As I said before, someone trying to work with a disability, I admire them for it!! 1st of all, I am not hiding from anyone & I have spoken my mind. Ask your husband & any of your employees that were there that particular morning. As a matter of fact, for anyone who wants to hear it, it is recorded on my cell phone. I will be more than happy to play it for anyone that wants to hear it. I always have my phone with me..so, just ask!! As far as the leaglities of it all, that you think you are bragging to everyone about, I have been under advisement of an attorney from day 1 & have not broken any laws, even with the recording & I have simply stated the truth with my previous post.
2nd of all, I have NEVER collected child support from Blaine & that has nothing to do with why we aren't married. You seem to have forgotten that he does have another daughter. While we are questioning marriages, wonder why your husband always stopped in Council & picked up that woman named Linda before he went to Big Tumblin hunting (& yes, someone else was there to tell about it)? or Why he always hit on me when I pulled-up on the jobsite when it was D&B Logging? or Why he was in the parking lot of your current store, not long ago, distributing certain things for b**b shots?? As far as me giving my kids up, my girls are here with me now & always have been, as they always will be. Not sure where you got that from...I guess from that dream world that you have been living in.
As far as my work history goes, there you are in dream land again. I was employed for GM Dealerships for over 5 years & have a wall & album full of awards from General Motors to back it up. I am more than happy to show anyone that would like to see them. I also had several jobs before that. If you knew me or what you were talking about at all, then you would know all of this. Oh yeah, ask your brother where he brought Blaine to after he took him to the hospital as a result of his "fake injury"...I bet he says where I was working at, which was a GM Dealership.

Then we have Blaine's injury, which was caused by your "disabled husband" operating a dozer (that I'm sure disability does not know he can operate). Maybe if he wasn't disabled, then he could have ran it well enough to have not injured someone as a result of him operating it instead of swatting Blaine across the knees with the tree like he did & sending him flying through the air. I guess the "fake injury" resulted in him going to Charlottesville & seeing the "fake" specialist who ordered the "fake" surgery for his knee to be rebuilt. Which he is still under a Doctor's care for & is most likely going to have to have a second surgery, as a result of the same injury.

It boils down to this.....You love to dish it out & think you can but you CAN'T TAKE IT when someone actually has the nerve to dish it right back to you & knowing that they are speaking the truth is what is truely eating you up inside.
As for the store, drive by JDM on any given day & the crowded parking area compared to all your free parking area speaks for itself.

I know the Gal that is being talked about and i have had problem's with her but can't say it was all her fault it take's two to tango.But she is very well known for what she does and what goes on but bottom line is if that's the way she choose's to live her life then so be it.Most of the time her parent's have her precious kid's so as long as they are safe from all the mess of what goes on that is the big thing.Personally i don't care for either of them and know they both stay in their own little world we all do but as i said that's their life if they want to mess it up.I just hope it don't pass on to those beautiful kid's because of them.

I know without a doubt that I'm not the citizen of the year, never claimed to be, & never want to be. Furthermore, It seems again that we have another person who's life is so boring that they feel they need to make their life a little bit more fun by tring to keep up with someone who has a life. I have kept track of this gossip for a couple of weeks now but the funny thing was when you said that he hit on you, hate to tell you girl but your a skank and I for one wouldnt touch you with a 10ft pole. you descriminate all women. I'm guessing that nothing interesting ever happens in Haysi. For you people to sit here and gripe about these businesses is completely pointless. If you have such a problem with the restaurant, stay at home and cook. If you have such a problem with paying the price of the gas, don't buy it. Simple enough? Publicly slamming this family's business only shows how bored you people must be. Running a business isn't as easy as most of you may think, and keeping every single person happy just isn't possible.

I'm not in any way associated with the family's business, but I just see them as local people trying to make a living and people should respect that. There is no sense in getting on the Haysi Forum or any other discussion board and disrespecting others.

i am proud to say that me and my family enjoy visiting the country cupboard, if you have not noticed all of the cooks are wearing some sort of hair nets and hats. i enjoy the food and the people that are there. the burgers are 3 dollars and some few cents. as far as a hair goes it can happen anywhere and will continue to happen as long as humans have hair.

I have been addressed by several people about all the gossip on the forum, so I thought I better get on here and see what was being said about my Business. Well first let me say to bluefire
I'm really sorry you had such a bad episode all in one visit, but I think you may have a few things a little out of line, anyone can come and look at my menu and see that there has been very little change in price.... have you been grocery shopping lately??? And as far as the restaurant itself, this is the cleanest it has been in a long time, my cooks wear uniforms, gloves & hairnets & not only that my kitchen door is always open for everyone to see,(there is not very many places that will let the customers see the kitchen!!) I am proud to be the owner and to have improved it as much as I have & I will stive to make it even better, and by the way there is not a $5 hamburger on the menu.. and as far as the hair goes I cant say if it did or didn't happen, but I have found a hair in my food before & I'm sure everyone has at one time or another, I would have let the waitress known and I sure would'nt have paid for the food! and as for the mouse?? well I have both my business exterminated on a monthly basis and everything is always disinfected. If you would like to come down to the restaurant I would be more than happy to talk to you.
