The 2nd Annual Bikers For Foster Babies Ride will be on Saturday, October 11th!
Registration is at Clintwood Lumber at 11am, with kickstands up at noon. There is no set fee for the ride ... donations only. There will be a new annual commemorative patch for donations of $25 or more. Our rain date is October 12. All donations (every penny
goes to our county foster children's Christmas party and gifts, and any remaining funds will be used for any additional needs of these children throughout the year. The ride will end at Bad Bob's for great BBQ! Please pass the word! You don't have to ride to join us ... come on up to the registration, meet everyone, and donate to this wonderful cause. The Department of Social Services will be present to answer questions regarding the process for becoming foster parents, and we are in desperate need in our county for good homes for these children!
Last year our goal was $5,000. We knew it was a long shot, but we just kept trying. We were blessed to raise over $5,700! This year we are expecting an increase (regretfully) in the number of foster children, so our goal is $10,000. Our area businesses have been terrific in their donations! Be on the lookout for a "thank you" letter in the Dickenson Star to see a list of our sponsors, and please show your appreciation by visiting those businesses!
