At Clintwood tomorrow 1:30. By the way, whoever you support, do it with class. Last weekend, I witnessed as Clintwood warmed up in the endzone, kids from Haysi standing behind the fence laughing, cutting up, telling Clintwood players "they would never beat Norton, they lost to Gate City, you can't catch the football, you guys suck" and other derogatory remarks and it was quite embarrassing. I know this does not represent out entire community but acts such as what I witnessed put a "black-eye" on the rest of us true football fans.
I for one will be cheering on Clintwood and if that is not your choice, so be it. Just remember, you represent our school as well.
To the ones that were acting like jack azzez, do not be suprised if you get a tap on the back and asked to leave if you continue to display such behavior like last weekend.

i was their and i didnt hear anybody say anything to any of the players. were all buddies off the feild and on the feild. im guessin you must have heard gate city fans they were just pissed that they lost. i dont think haysi would make fun of either c-wood or burton, they both killed us this year. haha we dont have a right to make fun of anyone, we cant beat good teams, just got lucky at honaker,thats why we made the playoffs anyway.

I was at the game, standing next to the fence on the field house side. I heard about 15 minutes of harassment from a group of Haysi fans. Yelling at receivers who were catching passes saying "There's nobody there to hit you now!" and laughing at players who dropped passes. This type of behavior continued throughout warm-ups, one right after another.

The worst of it occured when Clintwood attempted to enter the fieldhouse. The heavyset fan made the remark "Burton's fast on that turf! You're on the turf now!" "You're no state champions...We played Giles." The heavyset fan attempted to get in the face of one of the Clintwood coaches.

Haysi had their chance to win a Region D Championship two weeks ago when they went to JI Burton. If they had beaten Burton, than a Clintwood-Haysi rematch would have determined who was the best team in D1 Region D. Haysi got smacked in the mouth by a team that Clintwood beat twice in four weeks. Support Clintwood or stay at home. Please do not bring this poor reflection on the Haysi team/community to a venue such as a state semi-final game.

we beat Norton and Haysi could not. sone went to Haysi and Norton game and cheer for Haysi. as he should have. But you big mouth Haysi fans come on today but rem you are in the County and you are in the Green waves home.

The harrassing was from ADULTS...they were even going so far as name calling certain players! According to VHSL rules, a person can get kicked out of a game for taunting players...I hope they get kicked out this week...it is a very poor reflection on Haysi, We should support the teams in our county, and the region when it comes to playoffs and state championships!!!

Would you like me to go back and copy all of the clintwood comments back on here? My goodness! I think poor sportmanship is the worst. Yet, you clintwood fans weren't crying about it when you so called adults were posting on here trash talking. You get what you send out in life so you can thank all of the jack a$$e$ that got on here spouting off. It's funny when it is reversed that you are all crying about it. Next time handle yourselves with some dignity and you may get respect in return... in the meantime, grab a tissue and suck it up!
