who cares...

Haysi basketball sucks, now, I've heard countless excuses saying that haysi is young, haysi has had a lot of coachs over the year, well I heard this one was the best, that he would have things straightened out by distict, well whoever said that was just as dumb as the other ones, haysi needs a clean sweep of all coachs, and needs to go back to the basics. shooting, passing, and dribbling, and most of the players needs to know you can pass it more than once, and others need to know to shoot more, cause nobody else plays team ball, why should the rest, when haysi does play team ball, they win, and when they get selfish, they lose, it all starts somewhere, now, who wants to tell me where?

Coach

February 7 2009, 7:54 AM

Coach Compton is one of the legendary basketball coaches in southwest Virginia. He knows as much about the game of basketball as anyone associated with the sport. Compton is like every other coach, he must have personnel to win. His players are not bad, but Honaker, Council, and Twin Valley are head and shoulders above Haysi.

Sure

yes, he was a great coach, with the girls, and he should have kept it that way, haysi maybe below tv, but the other three, haysi has a team, if he plays who is good, and not whos bestfriends with the coach, haysi's problem is, they rather win with the system's kids, than to win with a kid(kids)out of the system.

Coach C

February 20 2009, 9:54 PM

I am a former player of Coach Compton and I can't believe the stupidity of these statements. He has taken multiple teams to state and is a great coach, then and now. It's funny how different people see things. I look at all the statements about Haysi basketball and all anyone wants to do is blame the coaches when things start going bad. I think the problem is that 1. the kids aren't as dedicated and 2. the parents now days think their kid can do no wrong. Sometime you've just got to take the blinds off and see that maybe your kid isn't as good as what you think. If that's the case the coach just can't play them. I know Coach Compton and I know that he's not going to play someone because of who they are. If it's your family not playing, then open your eyes.

Okay!

Haysi is a young team and they have had a lot of coaches quit in the last few years but they will eventually go back to the way they were.
