New and Need Help

I have practiced fabric painting using Liquitex BASICS acrylic series. The designs came out beautifully but when I test washed them, they faded significantly. I pre-washed the fabric, a soft canvas. I don't have money to buy a lot of new products and hope to make what I have work. Any suggestions or experiences that you could share.
