i've heard there is this phenomenon about north of the border, your scots rangers lads wearing england shirts - now what is that all about?
euro 96 was a glorious time, one of those occaisions when you felt that something was in the air, that common bonds existed between you and your fellow country men, that differences and other things of the real world don't exist. chelsea v arsenal season before last, a black man stood up, chelsea hat, chelsea coat, giving abuse to those afore mentioned north london scum across the way in the east stand. and it didn't matter what colour he was, what any of us were, because football creates it's own tribe and few things feel as good as forty odd thousand of you all feeling the same way, all elated. euro 96 was to that feeling what tantric sex is to the maleorgasm. now to follow the word orgasm with the ugly mugs of baddiel and skinner isn't on......but three lions held it all together. i genuinely beleived that it would be the england song forever.......n'mind
