I am registered INDEPENDENT. Because I'm not a dumbass. In America, higher education IS NOT FREE. So the INCOME (of your parents) begets the higher education and not the other way around... or at least the vicious cycle repeats. I like the mommy/daddy party analysis. It's bunk of course, but makes for pretty good water cooler talk.
