the dutch have had a lot of the best players but never form a cohesive team and thus always fall down. spain the same, great players, win feck all in internationals. england have got some good players but not the right manager....i'm not wishing to kick him out now but i'd reckon with someone like harry redknapp we'd do much better, guts and glory. gabriele marcotti reckons the brazil fourth team could beat anyone, yet they don't win the world cup every year.....greece win the euros, playing shite, no star players, defending rigidly and scoring from a set piece. in football, cup competitions there is always the chance for the classic upset - liverpool winning the champions league shows that - they finished 36 points behind chelsea yet managed to squueze past us in the semis. thanks to a goal that never was....... |
