..I'm certain I've pissed him off! Ok, so what makes a player play out of his skin on certain occasions? It's not luck. Or god. Our goalkeeping hero was Andy Goram, whom it seems no Celtic player could get a ball past. At these points players play instinctively; they use 'the force' if you'll pardon the cliche. Players who command >100K a week are great players week in week out but when it really matters are they going to pull out something audacious and brilliant exactly when required? That fine balance between brilliance and right royal rankness. Take Gascoignes goal in the Scot-Eng game in 96. Being he was at rangers then he really broke my heart! When that ball get's punted up to him you know it's going to be a goal. how often have you seen that when you just know someones going to score. At that point they're not thinking about their wages. Impossible to do that all the time though. That's why strikers are so expensive; it's maybe 3 or 4 particular goals in an entire season that makes them worth it. That fine line between success and failure. I don't really have a point here but aaaaah, it's a beautiful game and it would be less so if the 'best team' always won. Looking good in scotland just now; we're 5th ferchrissakes! Much closer competition than ever before. The premierships just a canter though isn't it and that's not good to watch
