he's the best there is and as such will always attract people who don't like him. i agree on both counts; i'd rather have a night out with him than trescothick, but he's not a very nice man when he's taking lumps out of your top order. having said that, the way the australian team has reacted since we began to take control of this current series has been first class, in as much as they respect us now, there's still grief and wind ups and sledging, but the new experience of actual competition has been welcomed by them.
on shane warne winding up to retiring - why? he could bat further up any order in the world and is still doing the business with the ball, better than any other bowler, with the exception of his nearest rival, mur-a-lith-eon??? why would you retire when all the skills are still intact? |
