Dad, Daughter Found Shot to Death in Hollywood

LOS ANGELES - A father and his 8-year-old daughter have been found shot to death in their Hollywood apartment.


Police are classifying the case as a "double homicide."

The bodies were discovered about 3:15 p.m. Thursday on the 1200 block of Tamarind Avenue, south of Sunset Boulevard in the Little Armenia neighborhood.


Sgt. Ruby Malachi said the victims were Armenian, adding that there was no motive and were no suspects.


Police say the girl's 15-year-old sister found her bleeding on the couch with a gunshot wound to the head.

Officers later found the body of the 44-year old father in another room.

"They were both shot in the head," Lee said.


It appeared the victims had been seen early Thursday morning, Lee added.


The family car, a white 2008 Infiniti with California license plate 6DQV763, was reported missing and was later found.


"The car was found a few blocks away from the crime scene and will now become part of the investigation," Lee said.

Investigators said the killings did not appear to be a murder-suicide.

The victim's names have not been released.

They have been identified as Khachik Safaryan, 43, and his daughter Lusine, 8.

Sgt. Ruby Malachi said the victims were Armenian, adding that there was no motive and were no suspects.
