What are we, Armenians, doing?
Do we ever organize such conventions?
Who is guiding or will guide our youth? We only talk, talk and talk.
Nothing else.
We never get serious.
Let`s act NOW, when it is not TOO LATE!

Council of Turkish Canadians (CTC)
is organizing the
Second Annual Turkish Canadian Youth Congress
to be held in Toronto,
on 17 and 18 January 2009
Registration, Reception and Opening Remarks: 16 January 2009

Council of Turkish Canadians (CTC) is proud to announce the Second Annual
Turkish Canadian Youth Congress which will take place in Toronto, on January
17 and 18, with the opening night reception on the 16th of January, 2009.

This two-day conference is intended to attract Canadian Youth of Turkish
origin
- who are willing to take a positive and constructive role in issues related
to Turkish Canadians; and
- who wish to contribute to a more balanced view and representation of
Turkey and Turkish Canadians, in Canada and around the world.

The congress will strive to provide young Turkish Canadians with:

- a medium to establish friendship, solidarity and networking with one
another,
- a better, truthful understanding of the Turkish heritage, history, culture
and values,
- a guidance in making effective contributions to Canada`s multi-cultural
mosaic,
- a chance to meet distinguished Canadian politicians, authors and
educators,
- tools and information necessary to resolve Turkish Canadian community`s
issues; and
- explanations to most common misconceptions and misrepresentations of
Turkish history and its current place in the world.

CTC will try to help with the expenses of youth traveling from outside of
Toronto. As long as the limits of our budget allows, we plan to reimburse
travel expenses

- of delegates traveling from nearby towns (such as Kingston, Ottawa,
Montreal), for up to $250.
- of delegates traveling from farther away towns, for up to $500.

Participants are encouraged to choose economical transportation. Please note
your travel and accommodation requirements in the registration form below.

Out of town delegates will be accommodated, two delegates per room, in the
hotel where the congress will be taking place. Delegates can indicate on the
registration form if they know of other participants they prefer to room
with. (Check-in on the afternoon of the 16th (Friday) before reception,
check-out on the 18th (Sunday) after lunch around 2pm. Please make travel
plans accordingly. )

The language of the conference is English.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information. Registration form
is at the bottom of this message. If you are interested in attending, please
inform us early so that we can finalize the logistics.

Council of Turkish Canadians thanks to all who are interested and will
welcome inquiries and suggestions that can help make this event a success
for all.
