A LETTER BY A GERMAN FELLOW TO PRES. B.OBAMA, INCLUDES THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

Anything is good and useful if it's made of chocolate.
So save the Earth, it's the only planet with Chocolate

Mr. President

To my surprise I noted that on your recent visit to Europe you vehemently stood up for the admission of Turkey into the European Union. During your visit to Turkey, you further elaborated and sided for Turkey to join the European Union.

Mr. President, we have in Europe our own democratically elected politicians, who are in the majority quite capable of thinking out and articulating their thoughts on this subject, without your interference. We neither need unsolicited American advice nor American pressure on matters which concern our European Union.

In Germany we have over 8.5 million foreigners, among them over 65% Turks and only 25% from inside the European Union. Thus, the Germans and the Austrians - have done enough for the Turks and do not need your advice on this delicate subject.
Germany had the first social insurance out of all the countries in the world (by Chancellor von Bismarck 1883-1889) and our foreigners are still much better protected than yours in the US.
The unnecessary integration of a block of 76 million people from Asia Minor, with a strange backward mentality and in majority Muslims, seems me to be just asking for trouble. Turkey is still living in the Middle Ages, and their Human Rights record leaves a lot to be desired. Whatever came upon you to make that rash statement?

If you want to show your personal kindness for Turkey, here is my proposal: I suggest simply for the United States to accept Turkey as their 51st state or hand out Green Cards to all of them. That way, you will be happy, and we in Europe will be rid of this problem.

YOU MADE THE FOLLOWING REMARKS TO THE TURKISH PARLIAMENT

This economic cooperation only reinforces the common security that Europe and the United States share with Turkey as a NATO ally, and the common values that we share as democracies. So in meeting the challenges of the 21st century, we must seek the strength of a Europe that is truly united, peaceful and free.
So let me be clear: The United States strongly supports Turkey's bid to become a member of the European Union. (Applause.) We speak not as members of the EU, but as close friends of both Turkey and Europe. Turkey has been a resolute ally and a responsible partner in transatlantic and European institutions. Turkey is bound to Europe by more than the bridges over the Bosphorous. Centuries of shared history, culture, and commerce bring you together. Europe gains by the diversity of ethnicity, tradition and faith -- it is not diminished by it. And Turkish membership would broaden and strengthen Europe's foundation once more.

Mr. President, before you try to convince us Europeans of the gains of the diversity of ethnicity, tradition and faith, we have some important advice for you: Please, sweep first in front of your own American house and settle the big problems around the American - Mexican border, not to mention the terrible mess your country has made in Iraq.

No matter what, we recommend you to keep your nose out of our European business. The U.S. should STOP interfering in the problems of other Nations unless requested to do so, in times of dire emergencies.

Furthermore, the Armenians are still waiting for you to keep your promises concerning their Genocide by the Turks; I am sure it has not escaped you that you faithfully made this promise to the Armenians recently when you were seeking election. This is now the time for you to keep your promise to the Armenians on the 24th of April, which date as you well know is the anniversary of the Turkish Genocide of 1.5 million Christian Armenians, by the Turks, who you are trying to bring into Europe.

Yours sincerely

Philipp Werner
