Some clarifications were made during the Obama-Medvedev meeting, but many issues remained unsolved, this is how political scientist Igor Muradyan assesses the Moscow meeting of the Presidents of the US and Russia. According to him, such meetings are not called to solve all problems because in that case all the levers of pressure and claims would disappear.
Turning to regional developments, Igor Muradyan expressed the opinion that the activation of the Armenian-Turkish contacts has not improved the Armenian-Turkish relations. There has been nothing good in the direction of normalization of ties and establishment of diplomatic relations, Igor Muradyan said.
According to his assessment, nothing essential is taking place in the current stage of the Karabakh conflict settlement.
No process is under way, it is over. There has been a return to the imitation of settlement, but not settlement. Such processes do not drag on for so long. Simply, one of the power centers of the world is not interested in resolving the Karabakh issue, and this is good, Igor Muradyan noted.
