The future statue of General Andranik in Sochi (Russia) disturbs Turkey

1 November 2010 by Krikor Amirzayan / armenews

The upcoming inauguration of the statue of General Armenian Andranik (Andranik Ozanian) Lararev near Sochi announced by the Armenian newspaper "Yergramas" caused reactions in Turkey. The Turkish press has largely returned to this information, stating the outrage from Ankara to honor the memory of a man who fought against the Turks and who is responsible for thousands of Turkish casualties during the First World War. Turkey is particularly affected because now it considers Russia as friendly country.

If the memory of General Andranik a hero of national liberation Armenian bothers Ankara say that Ataturk's the "liberator" and founder of modern Turkey, but that the blood of thousands of innocent victims Armenian? Atatürk who during his conquest of power, collaborated extensively with the Young Turks, organizers of the genocide of Armenians. by Krikor Amirzayan
