Welcoming the head of the Armenian foreign political establishment, the Indian vice-president said that his country is ready to undertake active steps for the development of multi-sided cooperation with its friend Armenia and the visit of the Armenian minister is a good occasion to sum up the results registered in bilateral relations and working out new programs of cooperation.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Minister Nalbandian said that Armenia's leadership attaches great significance to the further reinforcement and expansion of relations with India which is the main goal of his visit. The interlocutors pointed out the necessity of intensification of political dialogue, highlighting the organization of high-level visits. The parties also discussed steps directed toward deepening bilateral economic and cultural ties.
With the request of the Indian vice-president Edward Nalbandian presented the issues in the South Caucasian region, and Armenia's approaches toward solving them. They also exchanged thoughts over a number of regional and international issues, agreeing that there is no alternative to the peaceful settlement of all the existing issues.
On the same day Armenian Foreign Minister met with CEO of the Indian Cultural Relations Council Suresh Goel. During the meeting they referred thoroughly to a wide-range of issues on cooperation of the two countries in the humanitarian sphere. They discussed issues on opening of Indian cultural center in Armenia, cooperation between the RA Foreign Ministry's Diplomatic Academy and Indian Cultural Relations Council, intensification of educational exchanges, etc. In New Delhi Minister Nalbandian also gave an extended interview to "Asian Age" magazine. Today, November 11, Minister Nalbandian will have negotiations with his Indian counterpart, will deliver speech at the Indian Council of International Relations as well as give interview to Indian State TV.
