I see you have dogs, but what about a really cute puppy? You know, big curious eyes, oversized paws and head, with a childlike view of the world? Maybe ears that perk too- not as much as the hounddog you have, but enough to give the curiosity aspect some reality...
Also, don't forget the loveable quality of breeds like the retriever, labrador, and beagle- maybe even a french poodle with it's haughty little nose in the air! I think you could go a long way with the dog puppets- and glad to see you have a cat coming out- I can't wait to see that one!
