I need a few ideas for the Wild Thing puppet- I am using Loona (that is her new name) as a helper to sell my handmade American pins, and to get some experience with venting...I already took her on the bus with me whan I had to return a book to my local bookstore, and got a mixed response- most people loved her antics, and wondered how she was moving- I got the fake bird arm too..lol..but some thought i was some nut just trying to get attention, and one older teen was totally freaked out by her, and gave me a wide berth!

I mostly ad-lib, because that is my strong point, and I tend to act more towards the adults than the kids- she flirts with the guys and is a bit suggestive, but I keep the 'act' clean and never use any harsh words- to be honest, the adults had more fun with her than the kids I met did!

I am working the parade on the fourth of July, and would like a few tips- my only lessons of venting was an old record of Charlie Mac Carthy when I was a child, narrated by Bergen...I no longer have the album, but I do remember most of the lessons! I still have problems with my B's and P's and tend to forget to stop moving my lips..lol! But I hope the people will be focusing more on the puppet than me- I do intend to tell them I AM an amature!

Eventually I want to get a few more puppets and start my own little side jobs, since I am an at-home mom- I do personalized poetry, songs and stories, and thought maybe I could do puppet singing telegrams! As far as I know, there is no real niche for this, so maybe I have a chance....but I need to get a car first...

As far as ideas go, it's a crazy character that could take on a personality very quickly.... here are some starters:

Blues Singer - sing about people around you.

Hyper Character - make fast motions as if it's out of control.

Kissy character - Kisses you and you push it away, then it tries for others.

Alien - Say it's from a different planet and create a routine around that.

Optional Hands and Arms - we have blue latex wild hands available for the Wildthing too, if you want her, him, it to have hands.

I'm sure people will add other ideas here.
