The Bird Arm Illusion - Getting A Proper Fit

February 10 2004 at 1:40 PM

I received The Bird Arm Illusion last week. I mounted the coffee can in the brass-tubing loop then strapped it with the Velcro. I removed the black electrical tape that was below the Velcro strap and put my arm through the coffee can. It fit well at the elbow but the wrist (upper arm) area gave too much play. I used a poly-foam wedge at the top between the wrist and the can. The can and the artificial arm were then firmly attached to my forearm. The instructions on the website did not mention using a foam wedge and did not have any other suggestions for adjusting the fit of the arm. It seems like a good idea and works well. Is this something recommended or similar to what other people may be doing?
