Looking for lifesize replica

Hello!!!
I have no idea where to find what I am looking for and I thought (after looking at your site) that you may be able to share some wisdom with me through this forum.

I have come up with an idea for a new product and I am looking for a way to put together a prototype that I can start pitching to other companies etc. I need to find a lifesized human replica that has a somewhat comical face (if possible) that can stand up to being outside or amongst the elements.

This "Dummy" (who else would stay outside in inclimate weather) would need to be able to wear clothes and be soft material or poseable. Ideally, I think that an inflatable could work (and be waterproof) but the majority of the inflatable people with facial features are not the sort of thing you would want your neighbors to see on your lawn

I see something close to what I want on some of the puppet sites, but I do not need a puppet. I need something that has a fixed comical expression. The quality of the sewing needs to be fairly decent as this will see rough / outside use. But I would like to sell this item as a novelty and so I need to keep the price somewhat reasonable. I cannot imagine that it would move if I marketed it for any more than 39.00 or so, so I need the construction to be something in the area of 20.00 or so.

Is there a hybrid out there that you know of? Inflatable body, styro head with a latex face over the styro?

A material body with a material head? A material body with a rubber head?

Are there any companies that you know of that make Dummies (rather than mannequins) that would be sewn out of material and stuffed with fiber / styro / poly / something... ???

please email me directly at Curran@uwosh.edu rather than posting to the forum as I will not be able to check it often.

If this concept takes off, I imagine a need for thousands of these items.

Hope for some ideas,
Nick Curran

I asked Floyd Vent if he knew where one could find one who had "a material head". I then had to assure Floyd it wasn't a shot aimed at him. Leaning back on the kitchen chair he reckoned a quick trip to Ottawa would scare up a few federal politicians who might fit the bill. Ron

Our puppets as manequins

January 15 2005, 10:55 AM

Our puppets have been used as stuffed manequins in displays many times. Sometimes we can make them wire posable so they can stand in store windows, on trade show tables, etc. As far as yard displays go, you should go with something hard like fiberglass for textures. Inflatable are often used for Christams displays like snowmen and Santa. Etc.
