Hi everyone,
I make all my own fliers, coloring pages, promo, tracks, ect. But I have to print them on my computer and take them to a printer Then make 1,000 copies. This has become a problem. I use "Print Artist" and it wont open on anyones computers. What is a good program to use that has different fonts, shape & size imports photos, has artwork, graphics to make all my own stuff and allow me to e-mail it to printer and use on my web site? I have to make books, fliers so it needs to be created to do all that. Give me a place to try it, cost and tell me if it is easy to learn. I dont want to learn something I wont use forever. Is there something any of you guys use?

I believe the least expensive of the acceptable programs is Microsoft Publisher. I'm not sure if it will do books (I think so) but it does so much! If you use the same printer ask them if they have a certain program they would prefer you to use. Then ask them if they have upgraded and would consider giving (or selling cheaply) the disc from the previous version. Make sure that you get the code number from the original packaging or the disc won't work. It may not even work then, with registration as it is. Note: This isn't breaking the law. They are selling a used copy.
I have not mastered PDF files, but was told that one can do a search for PDF995 and download a free file creator. Once you download it you choose it as a printer option.
If you get things printed at Staples you can go to www.staples.com and they will have something similar. You download their file creator and it creates a pdf file that you can e-mail to them for printing or run off on a disk and take to them. Always ask for a sample before leaving the store, because I have run into problems before. Electronics don't always work around me. It must be my magnetic personality.
There is also a program called Open Office that can create PDF files. The software is open source, available for both PC & MAC and is available free of charge.
The program is very similar to Microsoft Office. Do a Google search on "Open Office" to find the site.
Greetings..I'm still impressed at the guts you had to appear at last year's convention. I chickened out because I wasn't sure how a foreigner would be received in Middle America(written as my tongue is pressed firmly against the inside of my cheek?). Do you intend to perform again this year? If so, how will you modify your Ribbons routine to deal with the pressure of such a high-level-vent audience? I know last year's convention was just a blur of vent greats. The woman at the New Year's show( who came from Lost Vagueness) still has me shaking my head..there's good and then there's awesome. Also I would go anywhere to again listen to the routine of the New Year's Eve M.C...I stopped breathing with laughing. Also the Japanese master vents were right off the edge of the American envelope ,although their messages of love and ecological responsibility were clear. And that message by the black vent that he was alone on the convention and a dramatic pause..was enlightening. I'm tempted to use two extractions from the Christian New Testament and write it up into a brief( not openly-religious) routine for the Open Show. Anyway, the best of the New Year for you and your family. Ron
