Easy as Pushing a Button

April 12 2008 at 9:26 AM

Last night in the chat, we were discussing uses for the Staples Easy Button in your show. WHAT! a BUTTON! Well, actually, my little idea sparked a lot of creative thinking. From uses as a Confetti "detonator", to a button to "END ALL" in a smoking prevention themed show. Heck, we even talked about it "opperating" a Space Ship for an alien puppet! There were LOTS of Ideas flowing. Now I want to here what you think. Let me know if you have any Ideas for the Easy Button. Let's get creative here! You can buy an Easy Button at your local Staples for about $5.00. Obviously it will not opperate what ever you are using it for, so it will just have to be for effect. (Unless you come up with a way to make it so it CAN work! I'll give you 1 Million if you come up with a way...No just kidding.) Let me know how it works out, Thanks. Below are a couple links:

Here is a link on recording your own saying into the button. If anyone understands the directions, can you please explain them to me, because I want to record something on mine.

P.S. If you don't plan to use the button with a recorded voice, remember to take out the bateries or you will here "That was easy" during your show! It can get very annoying!

Another AXY award post

Very good creativity is flowing here...you get an AXY award for a great post! The Easy button could replace the magic wand in a magic show. Try the wand ....doesn't work....try it again....doesn't work....hit the easy button (perhaps pinned inside your jacket, or mounted on your case and BINGO...the trick works. It will get a laugh.

To hack it to put your own recording into it you would need to purchase a recording microchip that has a mic jack on it and a little speaker. Here is a listing of what they look like...

microchip

Wow! I'm excited about both the Easy Button and the microchip! With the microchip I could make magic tricks talk!

Button: Make a transformation machine. METAMORPHOSIS! After doing your skit with one of the Amazing Ape puppets then put him into the machine. You "accidentally" lean on the button and noises start up, the box starts shaking (you act like you're trying to stabilize it, but you're really shaking it.) When you look at the other end you pull out a smaller version of the same Amazing Ape. Oh, no! Just send him back through to bring him back to normal.

AXY Award

That is Great! Thanks Ax for saying so! Here is an Idea: Get the button, take "EASY" off of it, and put "AXY" on it. Make a recording: "That's an AXY!"
