A friend of mine did a successful show at several schools last year and was asked to return again this year. However, he didn't have enough new material or the time to write it, but rather than turn down the contract he called and asked me to join him. He paid me a little for my time and I was happy to have the chance to test out a new them, work with a friend, and be introduced to those schools.
I once had a high school call and I knew that I did not have enough material for a high school assembly, so I booked it with a friend who could add to what I do. He uses a trained pig!
We also got the chance to critique each other and I found that I was blocking the view of part of the audience when I spoke to the Magic Drawing Board (good for any theme). Valuable information!
