Interesting name

I haven't checked out the site yet, but it is an interesting name. I dub myself as "The Master of Mediocrity!" You could be the "The Master of Mediocre Magic!"

First impressions

Okay. I just visited your site for the average that most visitors will spend on a new site. (30 seconds or less) Here are my first impressions:

EASY layout. I quickly found your rates and the fact that you do schools, churches, birthdays, and Santa shows. (Yes, in less than 30 seconds. Good job!)

Nice neutral background. The gray fabric look of the background really makes the colors pop out. Black might even be better, but the gray was nice.

I found that you are in Montana, so if I'm in California looking for a Santa, you're not my guy.

Recommendations:

Gary Strudler's name is misspelled. Ventriloquy is correct, but ventriloquism is more common. People will thing it says VentriloGUY.

I don't like the name of the website. www.mediocremagic.com is available without the webs in it. Why didn't you take that? Why not www.montanasanta.com? That is VERY easy to remember. Your goal is that people will see it on a sign and remember it the next day.

Your rates are surprisingly low. I'm assuming this is a part time job for you.

Also, I would suggest putting a links page on your key area instead of having the link to a different website right there. They will pop over to Axtell Expressions or the Illusion place and may not pop back. If you said "Links" then they can go to that page and decide where they want to go.

I like ventrioquy-- its stands out more...
www.mediocremagic.webs.com is a free site... it's $50 for the other version.
I already have www.MontanaSanta.com -- check it out.

It's kind of a canned page from free webs, but I like it.
Thanks for the input...
as far as prices go, I'm in RURAL Montana -- there ain't that many towns I can get to inexpensively, so I'm going to start low... once the rep builds and the word spreads, I'll be able to charge more and travel farther.

Looking good

SANTA
I have been both naughty and nice and what I want for xmas is to be a better vent, can you get me that? I know practice practice practice.....
Many of the suggestions that were given were just that, they are meant for you to think it over and come to your own conclusions...I did like much of what I saw, and just for the if I lived in your area and was looking for a specific type of vent would choose you, for holiday school assemblies, corparate parties, deffinate childrens parties all themed... Wish you the best.

"'cause you definitely got the shaft--- only beginners or fake beards would work for as little as $85 a day as a mall Santa-- that works out to about $8 an hour. My worst gig got me$25 an hour, my next to best was $45 an hour... I ain't reached my best yet....
yet.

Don't give your "agent" my addres!"(sic)

John..whoa! don't leave yourself open to a blindside hit. Remember backfield in motion is allowed in Cdn.football.
With all respect..some people follow and because of good fortune CAN follow directives of the leaders of various world religions to move among one's people and do work free to help folks. For example, I now find that I ( a 3rd generation hard rock MINER's son)am much happier as a volunteer daily driving seniors to appointments in RURAL Ontario than I ever was making a manure load of money. I decided I had had enough of life in the fast lane and in my 50's departed . May I suggest you enjoy your rural life and not covet the autobahn of success. Best of everything, John.

Montana Santa

Huh?

September 6 2008, 7:07 AM

I'm not coveting anything. The money I make in California as Santa pays 60 percent of my bills annually (and I'm taking the money from people who can afford to pay it). It also allows me to perform as a vent/magician for free for various groups. The fees I charge as a vent/magician enable me to cover an area approximately 300 miles by 400 miles -- at a price small companies and schools can afford -- that's what I mean by rural... especially when I'm the only Montana vent doing it...

I will never be a Terry Fator, Ronn Lucas or Jeff Dunham -- but I will be satisfied with who and what I am.
