With all due respect, in the first contest, I remember a ruling of one puppet per video...apparently, it was not so.
So I hope we can have clear rules this time
I really want to try and be with Terry Fator next year

Wanlu... we didn't say only one puppet per video...we said that all puppets in the video need to be Axtell. You can use two Axtell puppets...and in fact two or three puppeteers can join together and make a video, but they have to share the prize. You will be able to submit up to 3 videos that include you as a participant. We are working up the new rules this week.
Big question is categories. If we separate the vents from puppeteers we feel there will be too many categories. Too many prizes, too many for Terry to invite to vegas.... We prefer to only have 3. Adults - Youth - Kids.
The biggest complaint I have heard about last year is that you can't mix vents and puppeteers.... but it is a contest not of vent skill, but of "puppet videos". We intend to make the video clip itself a show piece and to raise all standards of presenting yourself on video to be the focus. So if a vent is in front of a live audience, the camera work, the audio quality, the colors, the background...still count. Also vent skill is counted as points right along with puppet skill. So it seems fair to me.
I open this for discussion....please make your case and help me with ideas.
If we do separate the categories... we would not be able to have the puppeteer films involved in Terry in Vegas. Rather we would find some other opportunity of equal wow factor in the puppet / film world. We are working on it, so make your case.

I think the rules ought to be left to Steve's discretion. He knows what's needed for a presentation and he knows how the prize winner's material/act will be presented. As a relative newcomer (who may enter the competition this year...threat, threat) I rely on his judgement.

Yes Steve...I got it. It was my mistake... somehow I really thought it was just one puppet per video. Silly me!!!
I hope I can join this year..I'm not sure if I have enough Axtell puppets
I plan to use the idea I had the last time...but was not able to film. This time, I'll try to join so please tell Terry Fator to get ready You did say winners will be with him in his show right?

ok, i am a beginning vent, but i will be doing a puppet video! ok, now i'm confused! (not really an abnormal state of mind!) I can do vent, but if i win, because i did a puppet video, will that exclude me from working with terry, or ronn, or ,.....

Ron...Bern, are you willing to participate in the annual Axtell puppet contest.
Bern...No, because I am not a puppet. I am humanoid in an early stage of development. Also there aren't enough categories.
Ron...You are mad! Steve Axtell in clear, California script outlines the categories:ADULT VENTS,ADULT PUPPETEERS,YOUTH VENTS,YOUTH PUPPETEERS,KID VENTS,and KID PUPPETEERS! What do want? Do you want Mr. Axtell to create a paradigm just for you?
Bern....No, he won't do that.
Ron...Then what in the name of all that is revered do you want? You now have an international readership..state your case!
Bern..First, Tony is the reverend, not Steve. And secondly, if he's revered how come if you print Axtell then Microsoft Word indicates a spelling error?
Ron..You're being silly. Just what category do you want?
Bern....I want one for a developing humanoid operating without human guidance, not even remote controls. You laugh California vents. I am the best in the dark and have had many outstanding shows inside my suitcase!
Ron...That's enough..let's eat lunch.
