Hello
When you Purchase at the convention do you generally save money over buying from their website? I am very much looking forward to buying the oldman story teller. I will wait till I see it on Ebay I could save a fee dollars, this way sometimes.

Steve do you make a soft country bumpkin type, if so how much?

I Purchased Vern the Bird from Shawn on World Vents a yahoo group and wondered if someone has a used cd or tape they are willing to send me, just so I can get an idea how this silly bird should sound.

and it was just basics I walked in introduced my self then Sniggles, who played shy until this one little girl came up and gave sniggles a true tender hug and said she loved him, at which sniggles opened up and said I Love U 2 and then the kids one at a time asked if sniggles could be hugged by them and suprising of all they were all gentle and loving kids biy was i suprised... I didn't have the questions and answers like where he is from, how do you talk, ect, kinda unnatural, isn't it?

Thank you every one for your help and advice

It sounds like the kids recognized the kid in your baby goat. He sounds B-a-a-ashful!

Convention prices

Having sold for Steve at conventions I can tell you that if the seller gives you a deal it is by the seller's choice. I offered 10 percent off on birds and bird arm illusions at I-Fest because I had more than I could sell. But, on the big items you would primarily have saved shipping. If I gave a discount it would be money out of my own pocket. I can't speak for Dan or Mary Fry at Venthaven as any discount there would be their choice.

On his 20th anniversary Steve had a 20% off sale. I haven't seen a sale since then except for introductory prices. Fortunately, Axtell doesn't raise prices very often. Gas is higher? Oooh, Latex is petroleum based, let's double the price! They eat the higher cost of production and shipping of base materials for quite awhile before raising prices. I bought my bear puppet 16 years ago and I think it's the same price today! That's amazing!
He has earned back well over 100 times his cost. The sooner you get one the sooner it pays for itself.

Don't forget the introductory price that is still available on the Hands-Free Birds and Chimps. Those WILL be going up. If you are hesitating feel free to buy one for me and I'll work up routines for it and then you can buy one for yourself and I'll GIVE you the routines!

I just purchased Vern and need to know how to care for him, I tried bird seed but he'd much prefer caviar and a taste of the bubblie

You haven't mentioned anything about the story teller do you think he would be available possibly ib e bay and at a somewhat reduced price...once i get the story teller then there is one more item i will need and that is the board...hope i am not biting off too much at one time... please let me know what i need to do to preserve the quality of the puppets....

Storyteller

The Storyteller has come up at various times on ebay. I have taken chances on latex puppets on ebay and have sometimes been disappointed. (A lion with a large hole in the mouth so my thumb stuck out. A bulldog with half his head discolored, and two purchases that smelled like smoke- not latex). I have been impressed with the resale value of Axtell puppets on ebay, but also thought. Hmmm. With the number of hours it takes to find what you want... it is probably worth it just to get it new with a two week guarantee.

Your right

After reading your responce to my inquiry I have a tendency to agree with you, I just wish Steve had a buy back policy and a resale policy when you could purchase a used as good as new character at a lower price tag for those on a budget, there are still two other characters I want to add to the family one is the story teller old man, Axtell's is the best softie around and the other a country bumpkinm type, maybe my first, hummm humm cough cough hard one... Right now the family exists as Jellybean Joey, Ms Barkley, Sniggles, George the Monkey, Loonie Tunes Louie... all purchaed within 11/2 years, I know I am buying too many too fast butt!! butt!! butt!!
its all fun, yeah......
