What is Google alerts

No you are not dumb.... Google Alerts is one of my secret weapons to efficiency. It's like "news clipping services" that you used to pay for if you wanted an agency to look for certain subjects in hundreds of newspapers, clip them out, and mail them to you. No longer! It's all digital....and it's all free. Set up any key words with them, and Google Alerts will email you with any web pages, news, blogs, etc. that have the key words in it.

For one example (I have over 50 keywords in use) I have "Steve Axtell" set up in Google Alerts and it emailed this to me on Oct 21st..

I use them to for articles on ventriloquism or ventriloquist. I like Steve's idea of checking for your own name to see what pops up on the net.
