We hit 96 degrees today in Sacramento and I decided it's time to move the puppets into the house instead of in the garage. The latex, vinyl, or feather glue (especially the feather magic tricks) don't like the heat and my garage is generally hotter than the outdoors. Just a reminder for you to consider the same.
I have an outdoor show on Saturday, so I have to take a cloth to put over the container as "shade".
If you have a basement during the hot months you can utilize a portion of it for your work area and storage area...Please be sure the basement is dehumidified or cool and not musky or moldy, not only is it good for your health its also good for the health of your vent figures.
Humid heat

Living in Florida is no better heat wise, and we get all that lovely humidity, too ! I have never kept any of my latex figures in the garage. They would be a sticky mess after just a few days. I built a couple of shelves in my office that have large dowels sticking up out of them, so each figure has its own stand. This way, they are always upright, no mashed fur or feathers, and they get to live in air conditioned comfort. That is until a hurricane comes through and we lose power for two weeks ! Yes, that has happened three times in the last five years. Last time, though, we bought a generator....

I also live in Florida To be exact S Florida and we get hotterest and oh so very-* lotsa humidity and yes we have been without- no phone, no lights just motor cars but not a single luxury..like robinson crusoe were as primative as can be and not simply for a three hour tour more like a three week tour. We move our AX latex figures to a safer place, but we have that within our grasp. Not many can be that grateful, so far. Good Luck.
