Amazing what you can find on line

June 25 2009 at 9:49 PM

I was trying to come up with a good colouring page or puzzle page to give out at my library shows. In searching, I found some great clip art and I used the computer to recolour it black and white.
I then found some sites of puzzle pages including one all set up for libraries - has a crossowrd using book titles, a small word scramble, and a maze (find the way to the library).

So on one side I have a cartoon of a pig and a beaver who is wearing a toque and maple leaf shirt with a boy and girl who are both reading. The caption reads "Horton Hogg and Castor LeBeavair say Read a Book today!" I used a big font and did it as an outline so it can be coloured too.

At the bottom it has in bold font "Neale Bacon - Ventriloquist" and under that my website.

The other side is the puzzle page.

That's how easy it is to have a "customized."

Great ideas! I'll have to take a look around and see what fits. I'm hoping that Axtell finds the time to come up with some clip art for us sometime. There are some programs that will take an Axtell photo and change it to a line drawing, but I don't know what they are. Then you can list the puppet as copyright of Axtell Expressions with the current year.

Be sure to check out the rights to use the clip art on the web. They may ask that you list them on your promo piece.

Can you say Pepsi, Pizza Pizza and Joe Louis?

Salut Neale. Thanks for the ideas.
I still laugh when I think of how your show in Kentucky two years began with Castor the Beaver greeting the Yanqui audience with, Comment ce va? Automatically I responded out loud ,C'est va bien et toi?
You never skipped a beat and banged out an English ad lib.

When I visited France everytime I asked a question in French they would answer me in English. Clairvoyant is French, after all.

Thanks Ron

I wasn't sure how many caught that.

I am looking forward to being an official part of the program this year. Both Castor and Horton will be there.
