Another successful showSeptember 5 2009 at 4:58 PM | Magic Montana Santa |
| I don't know if it was the posters or word of mouth, but my audience at Saco's Fun Days was almost double last year. Almost 600 adults and kids sat out in the noon day sun with 95 degree temperatures to watch me stumble around stage...nothing but compliments after. |

Word of mouth is always best! I finished a set of shows today at a 100th town celebration today. Small town, big fun! One NEW problem I found was running sound off the generator. They had a monster generator that led to multiple outlets. They had 220 volt lines with converter lines to change them to 110 volts, which is the U.S. standard. So I watched one guitarist plug in and ruin his amp. Hopefully it was just a fuse, but he couldn't find that it had a fuse. Another friend plugged his in and the same thing happened after a few minutes!
OH, NO! Now it's MY turn! I found the electricity guy and asked a few questions. The other side of the electric box on the ground had some direct 110 lines without the converters so I used those AND a surge protector strip. Went through one show and then the guy who owned the surge protector strip had to leave. I still had two shows to go! What to do? I had a converter in my car so I can run 180 watts from my cigarette lighter, so that should be fine. I took the chance that the problem was in the short lines that converted 220 to 110 and kept mine plugged into the other side. I didn't want to run my car batter for an hour.
No problems! So I was very happy! Had a fun time too. |

| Word of mouth page | September 13 2009, 4:44 PM |
I just had a great idea! Why not put a "Pass it On" or a "Word of Mouth" page on our site? Design it so it says something like, "My best business comes from word of mouth. Please print this page and pass it on to someone whom you think would enjoy a show similar to the one you saw. Make as many copies as you like!"
Then make the rest of the page a flyer that can be read in about 7 seconds. Photos, quotes, and webpage info. You can make it pdf form to make it even easier to print. |
