Halloween Show?

October 10 2009 at 6:22 PM

Turned my Axtell chicken into NUGGET the MONSTER CHICKEN for an October library booking. Added some weird eyeball glasses and Frankenstein bolts I found at the costume store.

Jack O Lantern puppet would be fun to include.

How many requests do you get for a Halloween show?
Do you have a specific program for Harvest or Halloween?

Love the creativity Steve! That's what happened when FrankenRooster met FrankenHen, nugget was hatched.

Out of a good egg comes a scorched chicken when you put the product of two eggs together you get a double yoke (joke)

shows

My average Halloween has one show, but this year I had a church that wanted early afternoon and a second within 30 miles that wanted early evening! Cool! I had to turn down a couple of others, but not before asking if they would like Friday night instead!

I start a 3 day crusade on Nov. 1st to try to draw kids into the church that came to the Harvest party. It also gives them a chance to invite their friends to the 3 day crusade.

I highly recommend the Lord's Prayer skit for Harvest parties at church. I believe you can do a search on the forum for former Halloween years or for Lord's Prayer.

Tony, wasn't there a video clip of you doing the Lord's prayer routine somewhere? I think you did it with the Axtell bear, it was very funny.

I've done the Harvest Party at my church for the last nine years. This year I'll be on the road to Kansas that day.

Almost every year, at least one library asks for a halloween type show (they never book it on Oct 31). Adapted an existing show to be "Chicken Monster Challenge".

Thanks for the reminder, Steve. I forgot about the video, though I hope to put it on my website soon.

It's slow

It seems to take a really long time to buffer. So keep clicking until it starts and then be patient. You may want to leave the room for awhile. Go down to Starbucks for a cup of coffee, do your banking, get gas, and drive through the car wash. Then come back when it's fully buffered and enjoy it. Caution! Be sure to have your coffee sealed while watching the video. I am NOT responsible for uncontrolled jerks in front of the computer. (from laughing)

Have I gone too far?!

Ax's tale of "FrankenRooster met FrankenHen" inspired me to take Nugget the Monster Chicken to another level:

Tony ,

That routine was laugh out loud funny! Can I use or adapt it?

Please do

October 13 2009, 1:22 PM

Feel free to use anything I write on here or publish in a book or online (including video). Just don't publish it as your own for money later. (I did not, however, write the portions of the Lord's Prayer found in the Bible. Please contact the author for permission to use those lines.)

Doing a grade school magic show the 29th calling it "Magic and Monsters in School" tying in bullying and drug abuse along with some of my usual shtick. Ought to be some fun.

Last minute Halloween ideas

October 22 2009, 6:16 PM

For secular shows this time of year you could do the following magic tricks and attribute them to your ghostly helper.

1. Uncanny silks or silks off coat hanger.
2. Card fountain.
3. Rising card.
4. Vanishing knot.
5. Rope in bottle.
