More Magic!

October 21 2009 at 6:01 PM

What kind of Magical Effects, tricks, etc. would you like to see more of? We want to expand our magic line. I has been great fun designing the new "Green Machine", so now my team is gearing up for more magic.

Let me know your thoughts.

One handed magic

October 21 2009, 10:14 PM

Ventriloquists would love to see some one handed magic.

BIG REQUEST: A great looking magic table! C'mon, folks! Many of us do kids' shows and the designs haven't changed in years! I'd love to see a great looking, sturdy, portable table for doing kids' magic.

Magic trick for birthdays.

Watch Sylvester the Jester for stimulating ideas. He is a living cartoon and is responsible for making the appearing pole popular.

I'm still waiting for the rabbit in the hat Axtell version.

Magic Tricks

October 22 2009, 4:50 PM

Would love to see some sort of stage/parlor effect that uses the puppet as the volunteer.

I think if you and Chance Wolf could team up and do something that would be FANTASTIC!!

Examples:

Head Twister Magic Add-on to a puppet

Saw a puppet in half

Mentalism effect with a puppet.

Hillarious routine where a child draws a picture of an animal. Animal appears. As they erase parts, then parts of the animal fall off. Would love something similar to this except with a puppet. I think the comedy you could put into the routine would be great. Lookup "Teddy Bear Turmoil" on Hocus-Pocus.com

New Three Pigs Routine similar to the Supreme Magic version that also uses the Wolf puppet.

Botania

October 22 2009, 5:58 PM

The national U.S. theme for libraries next year is a water theme. It would be great to have a telescope with an eye at one end, but it turns into a botania. I wouldn't recommend flowers appearing, but it would be cool to have something sprout up when the outer telescope is lifted. It could be something that looks like a fireworks display and talk about the cannon ball that hit the pirate ship.

Flea circus

October 22 2009, 6:14 PM

The flea circuses which are available seem perfect for an audience of 50 or less. It would be great to combine some magic ideas into one flea playground. It could include...
1. A water squirter
2. A rising card effect
3. A card fountain
4. Uncanny Silks type effect where silks come untied on their own and fall off.
5. Knotted rops are lowered into the flea's chamber and come out unknotted, or vice-versa.
6. A button on the side amplifies the fleas voice (for ventriloquists) so we can hear the conversation.
7. Rope in bottle effect.

This could also be attributed to a ghost.

Speaking of Fleas.... we have a new Flea Circus AxTrax introduction that is for our Chimp puppet.. (hands-free or regular)... or the new Monkey puppet! The chimp starts itching and you help him scratch until you find the little flea... it will be up for sale soon...
Want to hear it?

mentalism for puppets

October 23 2009, 7:21 PM

Put a blindfold on your figure and tell the audience he can identify objects they hold up.

A watch
v: It's time to settle down and identify the object
f: a bananna?
v: you deserve a slap on the wrist for that...but I have my hands full right now.
f: a screwdriver
v: See if you can dial in a thoughtwave.
after a few more bad pun/hints your figure comes up with the right answer

a pencil
v: let's get right to the point, what is the girl holding up?
f: an orange
v: come on get the lead out, what is it?
f: a grapefruit
v: let's erase those bad answers and press down a little harder
....eventually, f: a pencil!

a glass of water
v: Come on, what is he holding. You can see right through it.
f: a window
v: no you're all wet...
f: a banjo
v: that's pretty hard to swallow
f: spaghetti?
v:go soak your head
f: see through it, all wet, swallo, soak... a glass of water?
Dumb routine but you get the idea how any figure can be a mentalist...
