Next week I head for a camp in Alaska. It is a family camp for a church and I will have about 50 K-6th graders. There is a sports theme. I would love to add a little competition to my shows each day. Perhaps about 9 different challenges, such as on "a minute to win it". (I have the kids 3 times.) I am limited by what I can bring with me, so it has to be something easy to pack OR that I can call and have the host church bring.
I forgot to mention that we will be indoors, with a low ceiling and in an older building where they prefer we don't have the whole group jumping.
Here are some props I plan to bring for the competitive parts:
3 jumpropes (3 teams)
3 rolls of toilet paper
small inflatable basketballs (like small beachballs)
A set of bases. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and home
Bible baseball cards for question and answer. (I will save this for last because of the age range. Many young kids don't know the answers.)
minute to win it

I will be incorporating minute to win it in my camp programs as well. On the NBC site they have all the short videos and instructions for all their games. Well over 50 now! If you send me your email address I'll send you a document I constructed to help me remember the games! They are awesome for camp and especially for indoors!

Those tiny orange cones (from dollar store?) are great for relay races.

I feel like a conehead! I have some of those cones from my daughter's kindergarten year. They are somewhere in the garage. Now let me see...
