Would love them on the Wolf puppet.
Also I think the turtle and platypus would be high on the list.

How about one or two from each category of puppet:
Object & Thing
Steve, are there criteria for which puppets are best suited for blinking eyes?
P.S. My wife just had eye surgery. If I had known you were going to emerge into this field we could have taken her out to Ventura.
She's doing well but the eye is still swollen and doesn't blink smoothly...

I just ordered a Dinostar, but he seems like a good candidate, considering how big and cute those expressive eyes are. The turtle as well (which I also have).
Eyes have it

Yessir the Dino is in the top of the picks...

We won't want to retrofit eyes into old puppets. The head will need a hard shell put into it to hold the mechanics and if you think about it...the puppet should look brand new when it gets it's blinking eyelids. We will only be putting them into new puppets ordered with the option.
We are not sure of the price. Ax

Buy the puppet with the new blinker/moving eyes and use the puppet you have without the blinkers/moving eyes as a back-up.
a vote for Dad
April 4 2011, 3:42 PM
I think "Dad" would be a worthy consideration for blinkers. Is he in the top 10 Ax? Perhaps (and I would love to know these numbers) you should offer this animation on your biggest sellers. I saw in another thread that you sell more Willies than Busters ... following that logic, wouldn't it make sense to add the option to your most popular creations? Or, I guess, you could look at it another way and add the feature to a few of the puppets whose sales are sluggish, to increase their popularity (for lack of a better term). But back to dad? Am I making sense?

Makes sense. However, it would seem that since each puppet is made "from scratch" it doesn't matter if one outsells another. There isn't a backlog of lonely puppets waiting to be loved like the Velveteen Rabbit. I'm happily surprised that Steve offers such a large variety of characters, with more on the way! (I can't wait to see the "Island Guy".) A few molds have been retired over the years. (Remember Oddio and Ronald Reagan?) Likewise, most of the vinyl production runs have vanished for a time. (Amazing Apes, VeggieTales.) I was looking at my bear today and debating about getting a new one. Mine has been through over a thousand shows, I think, and he developed a tear in the corner of his mouth. It hasn't grown because the pressure is releaved, so I am probably the only one who sees it. Perhaps I'll use it to "feed him".

We are so busy with orders right now, that we are having to put some of the blinkers on back burner for now...but we have a lot of great ideas brewing, and we expect these later in the year. I'll let Joel know about the request for DAD. Thanks! Ax
