Oct. 31 is the most popular DAY of the year for me. I will say that I know entertainers with a spooky theme who book the last two weeks of October at libraries.
The last full week of October is traditionally Red Ribbon week or "substance abuse" week for me, so I don't really worry about not getting spooky themed shows. And the only calls I get are from churches who want to have an alternative to Halloween.
The best way to advertise is to push a safe way for kids to see a show and get candy. Of course, your sponsor should provide the candy. Costume parades at shopping centers... School family nights... HOA's with lots of families.. Parks and Rec departments... Libraries... and churches all seem to have an interest in providing a safe Halloween.
Retail places generally push for the Saturday afternoon before Oct. 31, before it gets dark.

Halloween's a busy season for me as well. This year, there's a twist. The world's oldest Indin is becoming a mummy and the bear is becoming a vampire...go figure.

I have been doing Halloween shows all month at a variety of places: a Pumpkin Patch, libraries, early childhood fair, and community events.

Most of what was said here is on my agenda as well for the month of Oct, as well as a puppet theater and a haunted house...I am in the middle of building something new for next year a giant tricycle...its a slow process right now but lets see where it takes me.

I now do four Halloween type performances....
1. Appearance on Tulsa's Channel 8 to promote our local amusement park's Spook-a-Rama
2-3. Spook-a-Rama...which is two nights towards the end of Oct.
4. The Neewallah (that's Halloween backwards) parade in Kansas.
If anything else pops up I'd naturally love to do them too. I have to say, the addition of my Axtell monster, Gruesome, has really been great for these events. Can't wait for the alien and the monster in the box to appear.
