Waiting period for order?

Could Steve or anyone with knowledge let me know if there is any sort of extended waiting period on any of the bird puppets? I read in another post that someone had to wait 3 weeks on the ostrich? I only ask this because i wanted to time my order so that the puppets will get here in time for the premiere of our show!

thanks in advance!

The has ben of me at least. These are all hand made so you can't rush art. wink.gif Each time I've ordered it's been about 3 weeks from the order day and the day it ships. but well worth the wait.

It's like they say, "Waiting is for the birds!"

Just tell people that you are in wait training now!

Your original question said, "Could Steve or anyone with knowledge..." Just to speak up for Steve, he also has knowledge. Ha!

So as not to have your expectations dashed, I'd expect 4 to 6 weeks rather than 3. One order of mine took 7.

Might want to postpone the bird show for a month or two! Don't count your chickens before they are hatched! (molded? moulted?)

Wait times

Always check with my customer service department about Wait times... they change all the time because it all depends if we have it in stock, or how many orders we are building at the time of your order. There is no easy answer except to ask Theresa and Jessica.

Here's the contact page

Recently we have hired 3 more builders to help out with the work load.... you guys keep us BUSY! Thanks!

I ordered mine on Jan 12th and Customer Service informs me it'll still be a couple more weeks.

So you have to factor in there may be other orders ahead of yours so there's probably a queue already then add to that the actual production period of your figure... I think.

Well worth the wait. I missed a planned showing last year due to a late arrival. We mangaged. Just had to make adjustsments to the original plan. I was glad they didn't just rush the order through. This is an art, and to have fine art takes a little time.
I have been so please with all the puppets I have ordered.
They do a great job. We need to have patience. After all they are doctors stitching here, and a little glue there.

Wait problem

I often have a wait problem myself. However, the wait for an Axtell product is actually far shorter than other companies. I won't mention their names but many have a 6 month waiting period.

I built my own puppets once. They were good for television. (Before HD.) I decided that it was MUCH easier and better to order an Axtell.

Incidentally, I sent out a flier to many libraries with two choices of shows. One was Peter Pan which had only one Axtell in the photo, but several other puppets. The other was an animal show, which had all Axtells in the photo. Guess which one was picked 58 out of 60 times last year and 9 out of 10 times this year so far! The Axtell photo has really drawn them in.

I really like my Peter Pan show. I think I'm going to have to order an Axtell pirate (Dad from the Fam) and an Axtell Nanny dog, and an Axtell Wendy and Peter (see Christmas elf). I use the Axtell skunk already for Stinkerbell.

Great ideas Tony... yes these things take time and are def worth the wait. We have hired and are training more builders right now so it's a little slower than usual but soon wait times will speed up again. Our goal is for items that need to be built taking 2-3 weeks max. It seems like a long time but remember how much activity we have going on....we build hundreds of puppets every month!
